Role Summary:

Dyne Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Data, Integration and AI Engineering lead to direct, manage, and optimize the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the company’s enterprise data, integration, and AI technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in integration architecture, hands-on experience with the stand-up and operation of Boomi and Snowflake, and a strong background in biotech or pharmaceutical environments where compliance and data integrity are paramount.

This role is accountable for:

  • Enterprise data architecture
  • Integration architecture and platform strategy
  • Applicable Cloud-native AWS architecture
  • Dyne’s Snowflake data platform
  • Boomi (or equivalent) integration platform
  • Design and build-out of an AI Technology Foundry

The Director will establish scalable, compliant, and secure architectures that support Dyne’s clinical, commercial, research, and corporate functions, while enabling advanced analytics and AI-driven capabilities. This leader will work cross-functionally with our Managed Service Provider, Omnichannel Digital Marketing Team, IT, Clinical, Commercial Operations, Finance, and external partners in a highly regulated biotech environment.

This role is based in Waltham, MA. 
 
Primary Responsibilities Include: 

Enterprise Data & Integration Architecture Leadership

  • Own and define enterprise data architecture and integration architecture standards across Dyne.
  • Serve as the architectural authority for system-to-system integrations, data flows, APIs, and event-based architectures.
  • Design scalable patterns for integrating internal platforms and external partners, including:
    • 3PLs
    • Specialty pharmacies
    • CROs
    • Data aggregators
    • Commercial, clinical, and regulatory systems
  • Ensure architectural alignment across ERP, CRM, HRIS, Channel, and analytics platforms.
  • Establish architectural principles that support “build once, scale across products and geographies.”

Integration Ownership & Development:

  • Provide executive oversight of the integration approach, tools and platforms
  • Serve as the primary owner of the Boomi integration platform and Snowflake data lake environment.
  • Design, build, and deploy integrations between internal systems and external partners (e.g., 3PL, specialty pharmacy, CROs, data aggregators).
  • Develop and maintain integration workflows, connectors, APIs, and ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Ensure integrations are secure, scalable, and compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP).
  • Support the onboarding of the company’s data aggregator

Platform Management:

  • Configure, optimize, and maintain Boomi and Snowflake environments.
  • Manage user access, roles, and permissions for integration and data platforms.
  • Implement best practices for security, performance, and scalability.
  • Monitor integration and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement error handling, logging, and alerting.
  • Lead the end-to-end AWS architecture supporting data integration and transformation, Snowflake integration, Analytics and BI, AI/ML workload management

Data Modeling & Analytics Enablement:

  • Design and build robust data models and schemas to support business functions (Commercial, Clinical, R\&D).
  • Layer on visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and dashboards.
  • Support BI and dashboarding initiatives and provide guidance on data access.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with IT, Commercial, Clinical, Finance, and other areas of the business as well as external vendors to understand integration requirements.
  • Document integration architecture, processes, and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and documentation for existing integrations and platforms.

AI Technology Foundry – Strategy and Build

  • Lead the design and build-out of the Dyne AI technology Foundry, including
    • Advanced analytics
    • Machine learning
    • Generative AI use case implementation

Leadership, Collaboration & Governance

  • Act as a senior leader in the IT department and beyond; advising across the organization
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to all those in IT
  • Support vendor selection (e.g., MSP), contract evaluation and platform strategy

Education and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in integration engineering, data engineering, or related roles
  • Hands-on experience with Boomi (design, deployment, administration) and Snowflake (configuration, optimization, data modeling)
  • Strong understanding of APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML), and SQL
  • Experience integrating ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other data platforms
  • Proficiency with Power BI and Tableau for data visualization
  • Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical environments, including integrations with 3PLs, specialty pharmacies, CROs, and clinical systems
  • Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., GxP, HIPAA) and data governance in life sciences
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Veeva, ADP, and Snowflake integrations
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and security best practices
  • Experience with clinical trial data, commercial sales data, and regulatory reporting
  • Snowflake SnowPro certification preferred
  • Boomi Developer certification preferred

MA Pay Range
$188,000$244,000 USD

The pay range reflects the base pay range Dyne reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation depends on factors such as education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
