Who you are:
We’re looking for a Director of Data Architecture to lead Hometap’s data engineering, analytics engineering, and business intelligence functions, ensuring that data is leveraged as a strategic asset across the organization. In this role, you’ll set the strategic and tactical direction for our data architecture, while overseeing key cross-functional projects that depend on robust data movement, transformation, and governance. You’ll also champion data quality and consistency, driving the vision for a trusted single source of truth across the company.
What you’ll do:
- Provide leadership to data engineering and analytics engineering practitioners ranging from early-career engineers to senior managers
- Oversee the technical strategy and architecture across the data engineering and analytics engineering teams, ensuring that initiatives support data science, analytics, and cross-functional stakeholder teams
- Identify opportunities and provide guidance in architectural design and implementation of data products
- Provide clear leadership, coaching and guidance to Data & Analytics Engineering managers and individual contributors; lead robust processes and standards to enable efficiency and effectiveness of the team
- Operationalize a data governance program
- Develop a scalable operations model to include a documented roadmap, goals, and objectives
- Foster cross-functional relationships across business teams to understand and deliver on functionality and capability needs
- Ensure a high level of quality across all initiatives
What you’ll bring:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture, with 4+ years spent managing and leading a data architecture or data engineering team
- Strong background working with data movement and storage tools such as Snowflake, Fivetran, AWS, dbt, Tableau
- Experience required with dbt (ideally) or a similar data transformation framework
- Experience with a machine learning operations platform such as Databricks, DataRobot, or Sagemaker is a plus
- Experience within a high growth, proptech/fintech or similar rapidly growing enterprise is strongly preferred
The base salary for this role is $200,000 - $215,000, with an annual performance bonus and generous equity grant. The specific salary offered will depend on factors such as experience, education, skills, and work location.
