About Solace

Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

About the Role

At Solace, data is at the core of how we operate. As we scale, the complexity of our data and the volume of our strategic initiatives are growing exponentially. We are looking for a visionary, highly product-aligned Director of Data Analytics to lead, scale, and mature our entire data analytics organization.

In this role, you will be a manager of managers, directly guiding a team of Data Analytics Leads and overseeing their respective cross-functional sub-teams. You will focus on overarching data strategy, organizational design, and company-wide prioritization.

You will act as a key strategic data partner to the executive team, specifically working hand-in-hand with our Product leadership. Working closely with the VP of Data, you will help ensure that our data roadmap aligns perfectly with our most critical business and product objectives. If you want the challenge of building a high-output team, setting an uncompromising bar for analytical rigor, and ensuring every product decision is backed by hard evidence, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Organizational Leadership & Coaching: Manage, mentor, and develop a department. You will directly manage a team of Analytics Leads, coaching them on how to be effective managers themselves, while ensuring high performance across their sub-teams.

  • Drive Product Analytics Strategy: Act as the strategic data counterpart to Product leadership (CPO, Group PMs). You will deeply integrate data into the product development lifecycle, guiding how we define core success metrics, architect A/B tests, measure feature impact, and uncover strategic product opportunities.

  • Drive the Strategic Roadmap: Help shape and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for Data Analytics at Solace. You will anticipate the future data needs of the business and ensure we have the right team structure, tooling, and data models to meet them under the guidance of the VP of Data.

  • Pioneer AI in Analytics: Define and execute our strategy for integrating artificial intelligence into our data ecosystem. You will spearhead initiatives around agentic analytics and AI-powered self-service to exponentially increase the leverage of both our data team and non-technical business users.

  • Executive Collaboration & Prioritization: Partner with C-level executives and peer Directors across the company. You will negotiate company-wide prioritization, ensuring the data team's resources are deployed against our highest-leverage initiatives.

  • Elevate Standards & Best Practices: Be the champion for analytical excellence. You will establish and enforce rigorous company-wide standards for data governance, documentation, code quality, and dashboard UI/UX.

  • Drive Data Culture: Foster a company-wide culture of data literacy and self-service. You will ensure that non-technical teams have the tools and understanding they need to make data-informed decisions independently.

What You Bring

  • 10+ Years of Data Experience: A proven track record in data analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field, ideally with significant tenure at a fast-paced, high-growth tech company or marketplace, with a track record of using data to directly influence product and business outcomes — not just reporting on them.

  • 5+ Years of Leadership Experience: Extensive experience managing high-performing teams and overseeing multi-disciplinary groups spanning different business units.

  • Product Analytics Mastery & Business Acumen: A deep, intuitive understanding of tech product metrics, experimental design (A/B testing), go-to-market strategies, and user behavior analytics. You have a proven track record of directly influencing product roadmaps. Fluency in two-sided marketplace dynamics — supply/demand balance, match quality, liquidity, and conversion — is a significant advantage.

  • Strategic Fluency in the Modern Data Stack: You possess deep technical fluency with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake), transformation tools (dbt), and modern BI platforms (Hex, Looker, etc.) to guide architectural strategy and evaluate your team's output.

  • Executive Communication: Masterful ability to translate complex data infrastructure and analytical findings into clear, compelling, board-level narratives.

  • Startup DNA: You thrive in ambiguity, possess a high degree of organizational agility, and know how to scale processes from scrappy startup mode to a mature, enterprise-grade operation.

Bonus Points

  • Scaling Experience: Experience successfully scaling a data organization through a period of hyper-growth.

  • Advanced Degrees: A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, etc.) or an MBA.

  • Healthcare or Marketplace Experience: A background in navigating the complexities of healthcare data (claims, EHR, HIPAA compliance), or hands-on experience leading analytics at a two-sided marketplace is a strong advantage.

Applicants must be based in the United States.

Up for the Challenge?

We look forward to meeting you.
