About this Position:

As the Director of Content Strategy, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with our business goals and drives meaningful engagement across all channels. You will lead a team of content creators and collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product, and customer success teams to create high-impact content that resonates with our target audience — HR professionals, HR leaders, and cross-functional decision-makers.

What you'll do:

  • Content Strategy Development:
Lead the creation and execution of a long-term content strategy that aligns with business goals, customer needs, and market trends. Develop content roadmaps in partnership with the marketing leadership team that are persona and use case based, and drive results for demand generation, thought leadership, customer retention, and brand awareness.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Manage and mentor a team of content creators, while collaborating closely with demand generation, sales and product marketing teams to ensure content supports the funnel, key initiatives and KPIs.
  • Content Creation & Optimization:
Oversee the production of a variety of content types, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies, eBooks, webinars, infographics, video content, and social media posts. Ensure content delivers value, and is tailored to the needs of target personas in HR tech. When needed, this individual can also create content themselves. Optimize content for SEO, in partnership with the Revenue Marketing team.
  • Thought Leadership & Brand Voice:
Partner with Communications and Brand to refine the company’s voice and tone to position us as a trusted leader in global employment. This leader will ensure high quality content is delivered that drives credibility and enhances brand authority.
  • Content Distribution & Promotion:
Work with the demand generation, partner marketing, communications, product marketing and sales enablement to ensure content is effectively distributed across multiple channels (website, email, social media, paid media, etc.) to maximize visibility and engagement.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting:
Define performance metrics and track and analyze content performance using analytics tools, making data-driven decisions to refine content strategy and optimize future campaigns.
  • Market & Audience Research:
Stay informed on HR tech trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform content development. Partner with product marketing to review persona research and gather insights from customer-facing teams to ensure content is relevant and impactful.
  • Content Governance & Quality Control:
This leader will be an expert in G-P messaging and will establish content guidelines, workflows, and processes that ensure content is consistently high-quality, on-brand, and adheres to legal and compliance standards.

What we're looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, or related roles, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership position within B2B SaaS or HR technology.
  • Proven track record of creating and scaling content strategies that drive business growth and brand recognition.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, with a deep understanding of B2B content best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring a content team.
  • Expertise in SEO, content optimization, and digital marketing tools.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions and optimize content performance.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An understanding and interest in HR technology, and the challenges faced by HR professionals is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the HR tech landscape and the key players in the market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, or a related field.

We will consider for employment all qualified applicants who meet the inherent requirements for the position. Please note that background checks are required, and this may include criminal record checks.

The annual gross base salary range for this position is $162,400.00 - $203,000.00 plus variable compensation.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
