Overview
The Consumer Marketing Director - Brazil is responsible for leading the development and execution of consumer marketing strategies and plans that strengthen brand leadership, drive preference, and deepen engagement with cardholders.
This role focuses on translating Mastercard's business strategy into high-impact advertising campaigns, brand activations, and differentiated consumer experiences, leveraging sponsorships, partnerships and connection to culture as tools to reinforce brand relevance and drive business outcomes in the Brazilian market.
Responsibilities: • Lead consumer marketing strategy for Brazil, aligned with regional, global, and business priorities, strengthening Mastercard's brand leadership through culturally relevant campaigns and integrated consumer journeys that drive brand equity, consumer engagement, and business results. Leverage data, consumer insights, and market analysis to inform strategies and recommend the most effective course of action. • Oversee the end-to-end development of integrated advertising campaigns and activations, ensuring consistent brand storytelling and strong commercial impact. Partner closely with Product and Business teams, using performance metrics, consumer insights, and campaign analysis to optimize creative development, media strategy, and go-to-market execution across channels. Manage agencies and partners to foster innovation, creativity, and operational excellence. • Maximize sponsorship platforms such as CONMEBOL Libertadores, UEFA competitions, and McLaren by translating global partnerships into locally relevant campaigns and experiences. Use audience insights, performance analysis, and business objectives to shape scalable, high-impact activation plans. • Lead Mastercard's consumer social media strategy and governance in Brazil, ensuring a consistent brand voice, cultural relevance, and strong consumer engagement. Leverage social listening, performance metrics, and data-driven insights to continuously optimize content, campaigns, and interactions across digital and social platforms. • Guide CRM strategy and execution, ensuring marketing initiatives are integrated into the broader customer journey and aligned with business priorities. Use data, segmentation, consumer insights, and performance analysis to improve targeting, engagement, usage, and brand affinity among cardholders. • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, collaboration, and accountability. Act as a strategic partner to Product, Business Development, and Partnerships teams, using strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to support decision-making, influence stakeholders, and keep leadership aligned on priorities and business outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience leading large-scale integrated advertising campaigns across brand and product marketing, with a strong track record of managing creative, media, digital, PR, and social agencies to deliver impactful business and brand results.
- Proven ability to develop innovative, culturally relevant, and PR-worthy marketing initiatives that generate consumer engagement, earned media, and brand differentiation.
- Strong strategic marketing expertise, with the ability to connect brand-building initiatives to business priorities, commercial objectives, and measurable outcomes.
- Highly skilled at navigating complex matrix organizations, influencing senior stakeholders, and building strong cross-functional partnerships across local, regional, and global teams.
- Solid experience leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous growth.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience leveraging consumer insights, market intelligence, performance metrics, and business analysis to shape strategies and optimize decision-making.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences and articulate compelling marketing narratives.
- Experience managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.
- Strong business acumen and ability to balance creativity with commercial impact, operational excellence, and executional rigor.
