The ideal candidate will be both strategy and process oriented, with a deep understanding of current and evolving technology stack and data capabilities for client development. They will be energized by the opportunity to shape the future of how the firm engages, grows, and serves its clients. An agile mindset and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities will be essential to delivering impact in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead cross-functional programs that modernize client development capabilities, including CRM, relationship intelligence, pitch/pursuit, and campaign/event management platforms, ultimately enhancing the client journey.

  • Scan and monitor emerging trends and technologies—including AI-enabled solutions—and lead the selection, piloting, and scale-up of innovations that enhance client targeting, engagement, and service delivery. Drive adoption across the firm by integrating change management best practices and aligning technology initiatives with strategic client development goals.

  • Build and execute agile project approaches for process optimization, technology enablement, and operational improvements in support of client development objectives.

  • Collaborate with Marketing Technology, Knowledge Management, and Practice Management to ensure alignment and integration across systems and data.

  • Foster a culture of agility — enabling rapid decision-making, iterative improvements, and adaptive execution across the CD function.

  • Facilitate collaboration across partners, practices, and business units to deliver a seamless and coordinated client experience.

  • Define KPIs and success measures, track progress, and report outcomes to leadership.

  • Serve as trusted advisor to senior leadership, synthesizing insights and progress into compelling narratives.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team to execute transformation initiatives with high quality and impact.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of client development/business development experience in a professional services environment.

  • Demonstrated success in executing complex, high-visibility digital transformations.

  • Preferred proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, AI and client intelligence tools, data visualization platforms, cloud platforms, and related business development technologies.

  • Extensive client development experience in a professional services environment.

  • Proven success leading digital transformation and large-scale change initiatives.

  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline and change management acumen, with experience influencing adoption across senior leadership, partners, and business teams.

  • Strong understanding of AI, data analytics, and digital marketing technologies.

  • Experience optimizing CD tech stacks (CRM, pitch/pursuit, campaign management, etc.).

  • Process-driven, with a track record of operationalizing improvements that deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Agile mindset with the ability to pivot quickly in response to changing business needs.

  • Ability to leverage data, analytics, and insights to guide decisions and measure success.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
