Job Description

Are you a strategic business leader looking for your next career challenge?

We’re looking for a seasoned global business leader to lead our account team within Our LEGO® Agency (OLA), Commerce.

This is a Director-level role for someone with an advertising, marketing or digital agency background at a senior leadership level. If you have strong people leadership experience and senior-level agency experience with a focus on commerce and retail then this could be the role for you.

You’ll lead a small team of Business Partners — our account leads who work with our partners at the LEGO Group  and who take responsibility for and champion the delivery of high-quality creative and experience work, always thinking about the value we bring as an in-house agency.

You will do this through a tireless passion for the LEGO brand, effective team leadership, and by meeting our marketing partners’ needs while helping address their business challenges.

Reporting into the VP, OLA LEGO Commerce, you’ll be a key part of the leadership team and help ensure we have amazing relationships and optimal operational set-up, working alongside a leadership team responsible for creating the conditions where high-quality thinking, great creative campaign & experiences, and our people can flourish.

Core Responsibilities

  • As a natural navigator with experience in complex stakeholder landscapes, you will help guide agency teams through the complexity of working with multiple partners across the LEGO Group. You’ll read the signals of the business and ensure OLA Commerce is able to respond with agility.

  • True partnership is about trust. As a leader of Business Partners, you will build strong relationships based on mutual respect, commercial understanding and a clear view of the difference between what a marketing partner wants and what they need.

  • You’ll develop a deep understanding of the full commerce ecosystem including partnering with our LEGO Retail, Trade Shopper Marketing and In-market partners — their regions, their business priorities, their challenges and the environments in which they need to deliver.

  • On the operational side, you will help us develop the best agency set-up to respond to the evolving needs and ambitions of the business, including overseeing agency budget and capacity planning.

  • You will define, train and nurture the Business Partner team, championing the LEGO Group People Promise through your leadership style.

  • You’ll bring a calming influence, with enthusiasm and energy regardless of what is going on around you, keeping a cool head while helping others do the same.

  • All this with a deep passion for the power of commerce and elevating our retail experiences both digitally and in-store.

Play your part in our team succeeding

This is an opportunity to join the OLA Commerce & Digital team as Director, Business Lead, playing a pivotal role in how the LEGO Group shows up across eCommerce, digital channels and shopper touchpoints globally, with a focus on our LEGO Retail and third-party retailers.

You’ll lead multi-market briefs across a wide range of digital and commerce-driven channels, partner closely with teams across the business, and help orchestrate standout creative work.

We’re only as strong as the team dynamic we create. We work closely together, supporting and inspiring each other and, importantly, having fun along the way. We’re excited by the opportunity to bring in someone with a fresh perspective who can help strengthen the OLA Commerce & Digital team and add to the wider Our LEGO® Agency community.

“I joined the LEGO Group a year ago, and I couldn’t be loving it more. These roles don’t come up very often, so this is a great opportunity for someone who is hungry to learn and get stuck in. There is an open and respectful culture, a deep ambition for the work, and a real passion for the role of play in developing the builders of tomorrow — it doesn’t get better than that!”

Do you have what it takes?

  • You will bring significant agency leadership experience, either from an external agency or in-house agency environment with a focus on commerce and retail experiences.

  • You’ll be a proven people leader with a nurturing, inclusive approach, bringing positivity, energy and determination.

  • You’ll show strong business maturity, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders and bringing the gravitas needed to influence at senior levels.

  • You’ll be an outstanding presenter of work, with strong communication and influencing skills.

  • As part of a global agency network, you’ll be an excellent cross-agency collaborator, helping build bridges across regional hubs and the global team.

  • You’ll bring demonstrable experience improving agency operations, ways of working, processes and team structures.

  • You’ll be able to travel internationally when required. As part of a global agency, teamwork, collaboration and networking will be fundamental to your day-to-day work.
