About the Role

The Director of Brand & Corporate Communications will define, amplify, and deliver CloudZero's brand strategy and communications across every audience that matters: customers, prospects, press, analysts, and our own employees. This thought leader will own the voice and reputation of the AI ROI Company as we scale from category creator to category leader, sharpening and modernizing how the market understands what we do and why it matters, and making sure that story lands with consistency everywhere it shows up.

It's a builder's role. You'll set the brand, creative, and corporate comms strategy and execute it yourself, from press and analyst relationships to executive visibility to the narrative threads that connect product launches, research, and thought leadership into one coherent and captivating brand. We're looking for an exceptional, hands-on marketer who has led teams before and knows exactly what kind of team this function will need as it grows.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Narrative Strategy

  • Own the CloudZero narrative as the AI ROI Company and category creator, ensuring it shows up consistently across press, product, sales, and social.

  • Translate category strategy into story, working closely with executive leadership to sharpen how CloudZero talks about AI outcome attribution, the financial control plane for AI, and what comes next as the category matures.

  • Set the creative direction for the brand, from visual identity to campaign concepts to the tone that makes CloudZero sound like no one else in the category.

  • Guard brand consistency across every external touchpoint, from the website to executive talk tracks to the smallest social post.

Corporate Communications & Executive Visibility

  • Build executive presence for CloudZero's leadership team, through media opportunities, speaking engagements, byline articles, and analyst conversations.

  • Lead PR and analyst strategy by positioning CloudZero as the definitive voice on AI ROI, AI cost attribution, and AI unit economics.

  • Own major announcements including product launches, funding milestones, and flagship research, from message development through media execution.

Category Creation & Thought Leadership

  • Fuel category-defining content, including flagship research reports, founder and executive thought leadership, and the storytelling that turns product capability into market category.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and Sales to make sure category narrative shows up everywhere a prospect or customer meets CloudZero.

  • Stay ahead of the AI ROI conversation in the market, so CloudZero is shaping the category dialogue instead of reacting to it.

AI-Native Practice

  • Run the function AI-first, using AI to accelerate research, drafting, message testing, media monitoring, and creative production without losing the human judgment that makes the work land.

  • Practice what we sell. As the brand voice of the AI ROI Company, model what modern, AI-native brand and comms work looks like, and be able to speak credibly to how CloudZero itself builds with AI.

  • Raise the bar on speed and output, using AI tooling to ship more, faster, at a quality level that would previously have required a larger team.

Team & Culture

  • Design the function's future state, scoping the team, skills, and structure Brand & Corporate Communications will need as CloudZero scales, including where AI extends the team's reach.

  • Hire and lead as the company scales, building an elite, AI-fluent team capable of matching the pace of a company defining its category.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years in brand, corporate communications, or PR, with experience in B2B SaaS, cloud, or AI. Direct category creation or category leadership experience is a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools in your own domain. You already use AI to research, design, write, test, and create, and you have a point of view on where it helps and where it doesn't.

  • Strong creative instincts across both story and craft. You can shape a narrative and also judge design, campaign, and content quality, and push work until it's distinctive.

  • A track record of building and leading teams with the ability to motivate, inspire, and hire exceptional talent. We need someone who has done the team-building work before and knows how to do it again.

  • Sharp narrative instincts. You can take a complex, technical product story, like AI outcome attribution or financial control planes, and turn it into language executives, press, and customers actually repeat.

  • Experience building executive visibility programs: media training, speaking pipelines, byline strategy, and analyst relationships.

  • Comfort operating at the center of a fast-moving, still-forming category, where the playbook isn't written yet and part of the job is writing it.

  • A bias for action and high ownership. This is a builder's seat inside a company that moves fast and expects the same from its leaders.

About CloudZero
CloudZero is the AI ROI Company. We built the financial control plane for AI: the system finance, IT, and engineering use to connect every AI dollar to the outcome it produced. Across every provider. In real time.
AI spend is the fastest-growing line on enterprise P&Ls and the least understood. Only 14% of CFOs can prove AI ROI today. CloudZero answers the question no one else can: what did it cost to produce this outcome, for this customer, on this model.
The largest cloud spenders on the planet already run on CloudZero, including Coinbase, Duolingo, DoorDash, and Shutterstock. We processed 14 trillion billing events in the last twelve months. We're the first listed partner on Anthropic's cost and usage API. We've raised over $119 million, including a $56 million Series C backed by leading venture capital firms.

Why Join Our Team?
At CloudZero, you’ll find a collaborative, fast-moving environment where your work makes a direct impact. We’re a team that values ownership, creativity, and curiosity — and we’re tackling some of the most complex challenges in the cloud space. If you’re excited by working with cutting-edge technology, driving meaningful outcomes, and growing with a company that’s scaling fast, we’d love to hear from you!
