A Better opportunity
As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for leading aspects of the General Accounting and Month-end Close functions. You will be in charge of reviewing, evaluating and implementing new, more efficient processes in these functions. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication, technical knowledge and leadership skills, as well as be very detail oriented and data driven. They must have proven experience, including previous management responsibility. This role will report to the VP, Accounting.
Responsibilities
- Provides oversight and navigation of monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger closing processes, such as corporate accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, procurement, and accruals.
- Evaluating processes and implementing process improvements.
- Crafting and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
- Prioritize and coordinate audits and interim reviews with external auditors.
- Hiring, training and retaining accounting team members, including team members in India.
- Coordinates and assures excellence in execution of the general accounting function.
- Participates in preparing and presenting financial results to management.
- Work closely with the financial reporting and technical accounting team to assure that accounting standards are being kept and financial reporting is effective.
- Works closely with the FP&A team to assure budget vs. actual reports are being maintained and reviewed.
- Assists the VP, Accounting in developing accounting organizational strategies by supplying accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations for critical thinking and direction, and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- 8 - 10 years of combined Public Accounting and Industry accounting experience
- Bachelors in accounting
- CPA required
- ERP experience required, NetSuite preferred
- Experience with Blackline, Ramp, or similar solutions preferred
- Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams, including cross border teams
- Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
- Experience in audit and general accounting required Solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting required
