About the Job

The Development / LCM Portfolio Strategy Head is accountable for the strategic and operational oversight of all Vaccines projects in Development and LCM (post-M2 projects), with Global Project Heads (GPHs) reporting into this role. The role includes international ambitions, including the oversight of the important China and Japan product portfolio.

 

This role supports the senior management team in achieving our goals and delivering differentiated vaccines to the market in a timely and cost-effective manner and in partnership with internal and external stakeholders ensuring evidence generation on the vaccines meets the desired label claims and optimally positions the product launch from an uptake and public health impact perspective.

 

Recommendations made by this position are of a strategic, critical nature with company-wide impact, full autonomy & accountability for product development activities, freedom to act.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop Global Project Heads (GPHs) who are in charge of cross-functional teams in Development/LCM;

  • Ensures alignment of the R&D roadmap with the overall business objectives of Sanofi, working in tight collaboration with all R&D functions as well as Commercial Operations/Franchises, Industrial Operations, RA, MA, Legal and other Sanofi business & support functions;

  • Constructively challenge GPH/GPT on the strategy and execution on vaccine projects in alignment with the company & franchise strategy;

  • As member of various governance bodies, ensure and promote a unified R&D vision and develop strategic roadmap covering the entire value chain for the Development & LCM portfolio;

  • Work with GPHs and relevant internal and external stakeholders (including governance) to ensure establishment and alignment on TPPs, iEGPs, iSCPs, portfolio analytics, stakeholder engagement plans, IP and communication strategies/plans for each project;

  • Work with GPHs to ensure strategies and execution plans for each project are a stretch, credible and have defined the key risks transparent to senior management and have strong and aligned mitigation plans.

 

 

About You

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

 

  • At least 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably bringing experience from development as well as other areas of the R&D value chain (e.g. medical, industrial operations, regulatory, CMC)

  • Strong experience in a matrix environment, where influencing a several stakeholders across geographical and functional boundaries is a must

  • Experience in late-stage development, preferably having taken something up to launch

  • Experience in biologics development (vaccines experience is not a must)

  • Experience or previous exposure to portfolio management is of advantage

  • PhD (in a science field) and/or MD, PharmD degree

The salary range for this position is:

$341,600.00 - $455,466.66

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
