Own and elevate design across website, email, SMS, lifecycle marketing, and events for medspa clients. Develop high-end creative standards, contribute to integrated marketing strategy, build scalable templates, document repeatable design processes, define service-level expectations, and implement AI-assisted workflows. The role requires hands-on execution, strategic marketing judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and potential to build and lead a future design team.

At Moxie, we empower ambitious aesthetic entrepreneurs to build profitable, independent practices—without burnout, overwhelm, or guesswork. In just a few years, we've grown from an idea to a global, remote-first team now supporting 700+ practices nationwide.

Our purpose is simple: to unlock sustainable success for aesthetic entrepreneurs, at every stage of their journey.

Design Senior Manager

We're looking for a Design Senior Manager who can flex between hands-on design work and marketing strategy — shaping both the work itself and the plan behind it — to own and raise the bar on design across Marketing Services. This role covers website, email and SMS, lifecycle marketing, and events for the hundreds of independent medspas we support.

You'll also be stepping into a rare kind of blank space: high-end design for the medspa industry doesn't have an established playbook yet, and the person who builds it here will own it.

Moxie has grown quickly, but design quality and process inside Marketing Services haven't kept pace with what our practices need today. This is the first dedicated design role on the team.
It's part graphic designer, part integrated marketer who helps shape channel-level strategy and marketing plans — not just executes someone else's, and part process designer who can turn one-off execution into repeatable systems.

That means walking into a bit of a mess on purpose. You'll be handed real ambiguity and the mandate to form your own point of view on what this team needs — not a finished process to follow.

Our objectives for the role
  • Own design end-to-end across channels. Website, email and SMS, lifecycle marketing, and events — shipping polished, on-brand work that reflects what high-end medspas expect, and consistently meeting our committed design service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Raise the bar for our most important practices. Contribute a point of view on how to make their integrated marketing plans and channel-level tactics more innovative and tailored, pulling on design principles to push strategy, not just execution.

  • Build a template system for our smaller practices. Design templates that reliably deliver strong performance and a polished experience without bespoke design effort every time.

  • Streamline and document how design gets done. Turn ad hoc execution into a documented, repeatable process — including a well-reasoned point of view on the right SLAs by client, asset, and ask.

  • Scale output through AI-assisted workflows. Identify, test, and implement AI design tools that cut manual production time on recurring work, so the team's capacity grows through better tooling and process rather than headcount.

We're looking for
  • 5+ years of design experience, including time owning design for a brand end-to-end

  • Range across channels, shown in the work. A portfolio spanning website, email/SMS, and event or experiential design — not deep expertise in one channel only.

  • Elevated taste and a real point of view. Experience in luxury, beauty, hospitality, or wellness, and a clear opinion on what high-end design looks like. This role isn't executing someone else's brand guidelines.

  • Marketing instincts, not just craft. You've contributed to marketing or campaign planning, not just executed asset requests — you have a point of view on how design should shape channel tactics — and you're comfortable writing the light copy that goes with the work.

  • Evidence you've built a function, not just worked inside one. First creative, design, or marketing hire at a company; agency experience across many brand looks and feels; or creative operations work where you had genuine hands-on design responsibility.

  • Comfort with ambiguity, and the confidence to resolve it. You're resourceful, solutions- and action-oriented, and you'd rather define the system than wait for one.

  • Hands-on with AI design tools. You've already used them to scale your own or a team's output, and you have opinions about where they work and where they don't.

Deep medspa experience is not a requirement, and we're not optimizing for it. We'd rather hire someone who brings thinking from luxury, beauty, hospitality, or wellness into this space than someone who recreates what already exists.

Why join us?
  • A mission worth the craft. We're here to keep medspas in the hands of independent owner-operators instead of a few large chains. Your work is what lets hundreds of them show up like they have an in-house creative team.

  • Set the design standard for a category. High-end medspa design has no established playbook. You'll write it — across our full base, from our largest accounts to our smallest practices, which is a fast way to prove a point of view.

  • Craft and systems, together. You'll raise the bar on quality yourself, then build the templates, workflows, and AI tooling that hold that bar at scale. You help decide what we adopt.

  • Room to grow into leadership. No direct reports on day one, but a real path to building and leading a team as your point of view takes shape.

  • The fundamentals. Competitive salary and stock, generous health/dental/vision coverage, and fully remote from anywhere in the US.

At Moxie, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, trusted, and included. Our team lives by our values: act as owners, give more than we take, move with speed and care, and simplify and learn every day.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply. If you require any accommodations to fully participate in the interview process, please let us know, we’re happy to assist.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
