Working in partnership with key stakeholders and leaders on the Brand and Physical Retail teams, the Experiential Creative team provides direction on store and experiential marketing design concepts that leverage the brand story to create engaging signature experiences.

Wayfair is seeking a Senior Designer to help us expand our brands - Wayfair, All Modern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane and Perigold - in the physical retail space. On day one, you’ll dive into our collaborative work environment, helping to build and scale our signage and retail assets in close partnership with creative directors, visual communications partners, and our copy and marketing leaders. You’ll be involved in producing high-quality, branded assets to be used in retail signage, collateral, packaging, marketing, corporate communications, and internal materials of all kinds, including digital, print, and video channels. In addition to signage, you’ll also partner with other creatives of various backgrounds, including visual merchandising, store design and marketing, to concept and execute on a range of experiential creative projects. You will help bring a consistent creative vision to our consumer facing channels, bringing our brands to life.

This role reports to our Head of Signage within Experiential Creative, which is part of our diverse creative department. Candidates must submit a portfolio of work in order to be considered.

  • Bring an impeccable design eye, high taste level, strategic thinking, and ability to capture our brand voices to reach new and existing audiences.
  • Combine a design background with an affinity for home design.
    • Package original design ideas and solutions that result in the creation of compelling design assets.
  • Value style as well as substance.
  • Uphold the integrity of our brands visual voices through high output branded asset creation.
  • Partner with art directors and copy to create assets across a range of projects, including retail/environmental signage, seasonal campaigns, new store activations, consumer education programs, event design, etc.
  • Manage multiple projects requiring cross-functional collaboration.
  • Work cross-functionally and partner with other business groups at Wayfair as needed.
  • Seek and develop ways of helping the team work smarter, faster, and easier. Develop, align on and implement processes when and where necessary.

Who You Are:
• BFA in Graphic Design, or related creative field.

  • 5 + years of experience designing in a professional creative environment (in-house or agency).
  • Demonstrated design experience in retail, interior design and/or lifestyle categories.
  • Love typography and graphic design and enjoy getting into those little details of a project.
  • Interested in the 3D side of brand design, including store collateral (i.e. shopping bags), in-store activations and event design.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative, capable of juggling multiple project types, topics, and deadlines with ease.
  • Excellent at brainstorming and generating creative ideas.
  • Excited to mentor and inspire junior designers on the team.
  • Ability to self lead and see things from both a creative and business point of view.
  • Experience designing for a variety of mediums with an eye for different printing techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization. Embodies and promotes a successful attitude, a positive work environment, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • A wealth of curiosity and a high-tolerance for calculated risk.
  • Endlessly curious about the customer – their passions, needs, and pain points.
