The Electrical Engineer assumes engineering responsibility for specific design and development phases of induction motors, including design, verification, implementation, validation, and production support.
Working under the guidance and direction of more senior engineers, this position contributes to product design, technical analysis, product improvement, new product development, manufacturing support, and customer technical support. The role also provides opportunities to develop expertise across multiple product families and engineering disciplines.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Design & Engineering- Conduct product design and development in accordance with established design guidelines and engineering tools, including CAD programs.
- Perform calculations and technical analyses using:
- Closed-form methods
- Computer applications
- Simulation tools
- Develop calculation tools for specific engineering problems.
- Review drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other documentation required to manufacture, test, install, and commission products.
- Build technical proficiency and knowledge across more than one product family, engineering discipline, and related application.
- Create and enhance specific design guidelines by applying engineering experience and technical knowledge.
- Prepare engineering reports addressing topics and issues involving various products and technical fields, including reports that may be distributed externally.
- Support the Sales department by providing technical input for negotiations involving standard products.
- Provide technical assistance to other departments and customers in accordance with established design guidelines.
- Respond to technical questions and help resolve product and engineering-related issues.
- Communicate technical information effectively with customers, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of new products by:
- Providing input on product specifications
- Designing prototypes
- Developing validation tests
- Preparing supporting technical documentation
- Provide engineering input into project feasibility and cost analysis.
- Provide input regarding the time and resources required to complete multiple project tasks.
- Support the development of project schedules and execute assigned tasks according to established orders and schedules.
- Strive for 100% on-time completion of assigned engineering tasks.
- Monitor the execution of specific tasks assigned to more junior team members.
- Provide timely updates and reports on project status.
- Review the work of designers and engineers with less experience.
- Review products for compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Provide technical input to non-conformance dispositions and corrective actions based on established design guidelines.
- Participate in initiatives focused on:
- Product improvement
- Productivity improvement

- Cycle-time reduction
- Lead selected improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical input based on established engineering guidelines when addressing non-conformances and corrective actions.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
- 3–5 years of related engineering work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with medium- and high-voltage equipment (2.4–13.8 kV) preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience using relevant:
- CAD software
- PDM software
- Simulation software
- 3–5 years of experience applying relevant industry standards, including:
- NEMA
- IEEE
- IEC
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Safety rules
- Industry standards
- Operating and maintenance instructions
- White papers
- Procedure manuals
- Ability to prepare technical reports and professional correspondence.
