The Demand Planning Lead is responsible for leading the monthly Demand Review process and developing the unconstrained demand plan that supports the Therakos Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. The position serves as the primary liaison between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, Business Operations, Field Technical Services and Supply Chain functions to ensure a single, aligned view of future demand. The role is accountable for forecast accuracy, demand analytics, scenario planning, assumptions management, and executive reporting that supports informed business decisions.

Skills:
  • Strong communication and organization to lead the monthly Demand Review process and ensure all required inputs, assumptions, risks, opportunities and decisions are documented and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts by product family, SKU, geography and channel using historical demand, commercial inputs, market intelligence, and statistical forecasting techniques.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and forecast bias against key performance targets and implement corrective actions to continuously improve forecast quality and planning effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, Field Technical Services, and Business Operations to achieve consensus on forecast assumptions and future demand expectations.
  • The Demand Planning Lead prepares executive-ready analysis, scenarios, and recommendations for discussion with Therakos leadership.
  • The Demand Planning Lead ensures all demand planning processes, assumptions, templates, and supporting documentation remain standardized, auditable, and compliant with established SIOP governance requirements.
  • Supports the implementation and optimization of planning systems, reporting tools, and data governance processes that improve forecasting effectiveness.
Experience:
  • •Minimum of five years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, SIOP, S&OP, Integrated Business Planning, or related disciplines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI required.
  • Experience working in regulated medical devices, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare manufacturing environments is preferred.
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) preferred.

Job responsibilities
  • Demand Planning:
    • Lead the monthly Demand Review process as part of the Therakos Sales, Inventory, and operations Planning (SIOP) framework, ensuring all forecast assumptions, risks, opportunities, and decisions are reviewed, documented, and communicated to stakeholders.
    • Facilitate cross-functional consensus planning meetings with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, Field Technical Services, Business Operations, and Supply Chain teams to develop a single, aligned view of future demand.
    • Develop and maintain the unconstrained demand plan across product families, SKUs, geographies, and channels to support strategic business objectives and operational planning requirements. 
    • Manage forecast assumptions, market intelligence, product lifecycle changes, commercial initiatives, and business risks that influence future demand projections.
  • Demand Forecasting & Analytics:
    • Generate and maintain rolling demand forecasts using historical sales data, statistical forecasting methods, commercial inputs, customer trends, and market intelligence.
    • Analyze demand patterns, forecast variability, seasonality, and business drivers to improve forecast accuracy and support decision-making. 
    • Monitor and report forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and other key demand planning performance indicators, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve forecast quality.
    • Develop demand scenarios and sensitivity analyses to evaluate potential business and operational impacts, asses risks and opportunities, and support executive decision-making.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and reconcile differences in Kit, Device, Drug, and spare parts inventory levels across global sites and NetSuite to support commercial requirements and minimize stock variances.
    • Conduct global cycle counts, analyze inventory discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure inventory practices comply with regulatory and quality standards relevant to medical device operations.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
    • Prepare executive-ready dashboards, reports, presentations, and recommendations that communicate forecast performance.
    • Maintain demand planning data integrity by ensuring forecasts, assumptions, master data, and supporting documentation are accurate, standardized, and aligned across planning systems.
    • Conduct detailed analysis of customer demand, product performance, market dynamics, and business trends to support strategic planning initiatives and continuous process improvement.
    • Ensure all demand planning processes, reports, and supporting documentation are auditable and compliant with established SIOP governance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, Field Technical Services, Business Operations, and Supply Chain teams to align demand forecasts with commercial strategics, financial plans, and operational capabilities.
    • Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations teams to communicate forecast changes, business assumptions, and demand risks that may impact inventory, production, capacity, or service levels.
    • Support monthly Supply Review and Executive SIOP meetings by providing demand insights, analytics, scenario evaluations, and recommendations.
    • Serve as the primary business contact for demand-related inquiries, ensuring transparency and alignment across functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Optimization:
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing forecasting methodologies, planning processes, reporting capabilities, and demand planning effectiveness.
    • Support the implementation, optimization, and utilization of planning systems, forecasting tools, and reporting platforms to improve forecast accuracy, planning efficiency, and organizational visibility.
    • Establish and maintain standardized forecasting processes, templates, and governance controls that promote consistency, scalability, and best practice demand planning.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, and data-driven decision making to strengthen overall SIOP process maturity and business performance.
