The Senior Database Engineer leads important projects in design, development, implementation and management of databases. The Senior Database Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

 

The Senior Database Engineer is responsible for designing and developing data repositories to support current and future sales analytics and reporting tools used by MarketPOINT sales leadership.

  • Design, guide, and oversee the development and implementation of data repositories to support sales analytics and reporting
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with all impacted business areas
  • Create and lead initiatives for special projects
  • Provide technical guidance to agile scrum team for the development of enterprise data warehouses
  • Review, analyze, and make recommendations for issue resolution
  • Monitor and resolve data quality issues within data repositories
  • Contribute to final decisions regarding the readiness of production installations
  • Present data-driven information to stakeholders in understandable formats
  • Improve processes by identifying inefficiencies, researching solutions, making recommendations, and documenting the final results
  • Develop and strengthen MarketPOINT’s relationship with the field at every opportunity

 

               

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience with relational databases, including SQL Server and/or Oracle
  • Proven data analytics and database development skills
  • Strong SQL development skills with proven ability to build complex queries and stored procedures
  • Flexibility and adaptability - comfortable defining the structure and processes needed for complex projects
  • Ability to lead initiatives and coordinate work amongst peers to accomplish goals
  • Experience working with IT and business teams to resolve issues
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Evidence of ability to self-manage
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Provider related data sets
  • Experience developing in SSIS and SSRS
  • Experience working in an Agile Project Management environment
  • Data science, machine learning, and/or other analytics skills
  • Six Sigma certified
  • QlikView development experience
  • Python/R/SAS skills
