The Opportunity
As a Reporting & Analysis Actuary for the Trad Valuation team, you?ll be providing accurate financial information and analysis that is actionable and forward-thinking.? This will entail developing highly interactive digital experiences for our internal customers in an innovative and collaborative environment.?
The Team
As the Trad Valuation team is responsible for the financials of the largest line of business at MassMutual, the makeup of the team is quite diverse.? The valuation team is made up of GGY Axis modelers, valuation experts, and data strategy programmers.? Communication, resilience, and agility are some of the most important competencies underlying the team?s strengths.? The Impact
This Actuary will display accountability by managing the completion of monthly/quarterly/annual Stat, GAAP, and tax reserves, including investigation and explanation of driver of results and effective communication of findings shared with appropriate parties.
In addition, business acumen will be developed by overseeing the annual reserve adequacy testing (CFT, DAC, LRT) including production / reporting / exploration of results and preparation of various memos and certifications.
Communication of the valuation governance framework, including assumption-setting, model
development and management, data governance, and standard work processes will also be important.??
Finally, agility will be enhanced by anticipating areas where current regulatory/accounting developments impact the Traditional products, effectively inform management of the concerns, offer options and work collaboratively to implement solutions.
The Minimum Qualifications
- Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and ?Compliant? with regards to SOA CPD Attestation Status
- Minimum 6 years of experience demonstrating mastery of relevant actuarial practice
- Strong working knowledge of valuation techniques and US insurance products and pricing

- Whole Life and Term Life Products highly desired.
