Lead Business Analytics
POSITION SUMMARY
?
Create strategy and lead the execution to deliver timely and informative data and analysis in support of MMUS product. Partner across CFO, ABA, ETX and FP&A to coordinate and compile data and analytics from multiple sources, present findings and conclusions to both internal and external audiences. Consult with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document and analyze business needs, design requirements and solutions. Act as a key partner with the Competitive Intelligence and Portfolio Analytics teams to deliver key customer information to various stakeholders across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual in this role will be responsible for the strategy and implementation of an overall approach to business analytics within MMUS Product from concept and vision through delivery. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the Product team?s priorities are vetted and escalated to ensure effective and timely delivery of results. This includes anticipating and defining business needs, developing actionable solutions recommendations, working with IT and Finance to coordinate activities, and reporting tools to deliver analytics. As part of delivery, the person will be responsible for exploring data, determining the value and meaning of data content, integrating multiple sources of information and presenting compelling findings, meaningful insights and conclusions. Analytics and reporting findings will be delivered through multiple vehicles, including surveys, reports, extracts, dashboards, and other appropriate tools. Incumbents possess knowledge and technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
This individual will also act as the key liaison from the Product team to the Finance organization through expense budget reviews, financial forecasts and analysis. In this role, frequent interaction and coordination across the Product leadership team and both SFBP and FP&A is required to meet Finance deliverables.
The most significant accountability includes serving as the primary point of contact for MassMutual?s participation in industry-related surveys (ie LIMRA); including the delivery MassMutual key financial indicators on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This will require significant partnership with MassMutual finance and IT organizations to identify existing data capabilities and gaps, as well as ensuring there is an effective data governance process with controls that are monitored with automated solutions for reporting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS?
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain ownership and responsibility for the disposition of delegated assignments.
- Ability to project manage initiatives that involve cross-departmental participation
- Ability to re-prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong LADL suite product knowledge
- Strong knowledge of sales and insurance financials
- Demonstrated knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and financial concepts
- Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word, Tableau, Microstrategy
- 10+ years of sales or financial industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Will not require sponsorship now or in the future
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional designations (CFP, CLU, ChFC) desirable
