Job Overview:

As a Data Developer you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will work with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.

• Use your technology expertise to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within your specialized area(s) of the technology domain.
• Evaluate new technologies and participates in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within TCF’s technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership. Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies.
• Lead or set strategy for testing and debugging at the platform or enterprise level. In complex and unstructured situations, serve as an expert resource to create and improve standards and best practices to ensure high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables
• Lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services.
• Participate in planning services that have enterprise impact. Provide suggestions for handling routine and moderately complex technical problems, escalating issues when appropriate. Gather information, data, and input from a wide variety of sources; identify additional resources when appropriate, engage with appropriate stakeholders, and conduct in-depth analysis of information.

• Hive SQL Proficiency is a must.   

• Proficiency with a major Hadoop Platform including security administration.  

• Extensive experience with Kafka, Scoop, Spark, Python, is required.  
• Proven ability to architect, design, and develop data pipelines

• Knowledge of ETL and Stored Procedures in a major EDW (Netezza, Oracle, or Teradata preferred) platform is a must.  

• Experience migrating workloads from traditional data warehouse architectures to Hadoop is highly desireable.

• Knowledge of data formats and ETL and ELT processes in a Hadoop environment including Hive, Parquet, MapReduce, YARN, HBase and other NoSQL databases.

• Experience in dealing with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data in batch and real-time environments.

• Experience with working in HDInsight environments including familarity with DevOps.  

• Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred.

• Skilled problem solvers with the desire and proven ability to create innovative solutions.
• Flexible and adaptable attitude, disciplined to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to varied environments.
• Future technology leaders- dynamic individuals energized by fast paced personal and professional growth.
• Phenomenal communicators who can explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, including high level decision makers.
• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major.
• Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
• Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
• Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
• Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
