What success looks like.

· Own the design, architecture, and scaling of the Insurance Operations data platform in alignment with enterprise standards and approach 

· Create a data environment that is modelled for consistency and success; third normal form for web applications and star/ dimensional and data marts to support reporting and analytics.

· Ensure data environments are properly governed, including but not limited to proper data lineage, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, SDLC, and data models

  • Build pipelines to clean, prepare, and enrich data and ultimately integrate into a consolidation layer presented to customers and enterprise stakeholders
  • Partner with our service delivery and business analytics teams to analyze data and deliver reporting capabilities that advance and transform Insurance Operations.
  • Lead web development that supports Insurance Operations customers and ensure proper governance

What your days and weeks will include.

· Design, architect and lead all activities associated with the running of the Data Engineering team

· Driving success through key metrics and maturity models

· Direct the Governance of Data Architecture/Modelling, Development, Web Development and Maintenance/Support through the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. Adhere to both company policy and governmental regulations 

· Manage available resources at the single or multi-Service Delivery Team level

· Manage differences across your peers, come to a collective decision and support your peers

· Partner with peers across Project Mgmt, Reporting and Business Analytics to ensure Business Intelligence delivers on its commitments

· Participate as member of the management team contributing to the development of strategies and business goals and measures

· Retain and attract top diverse talent

· Establish and assess the achievement of objectives and commitments through ongoing coaching and quarterly performance/development discussions

· Create an environment that is proactive, agile, collaborative and accountable

· Lead with a focus on continuous improvement concepts and educate team members in the application of problem-solving principals, equipping team members with tools and behaviors to drive sustainable improvements

· Create a culture of high performance, innovation and experimentation

The skills that make you a great fit.

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • 10 + Years being part of / or leading a data management/engineering team
  • Thorough understanding of Data Architecture and Modeling, in particular, third normal form, star / dimensional, data marts to support reporting, and analytics

· Understanding of data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data

· Understand, implement and support Data Governance and SDLC processes

· Experience with business analytics and/or data science a plus 

· Experience with web development a plus 

· Experience with agile project management methods; primarily Scrum and Kanban

· Strategic thinker capable of developing & executing on long-term and short-term goals

· Strong communication skills and listens to understand others’ needs, motivations, and perspectives

· Resilient, able to adapt and thrive in complex, uncertain and changing situations

· Ability to manage priorities effectively by anticipating problems and adapting quickly to achieve goals

· Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
