The Opportunity

The Data Analytics team within Corporate Audit is on a mission to curate and organize MassMutual information that is relevant, complete, and accurate for use in audit processes. To aid in MassMutual’s goal of helping people secure their future and protect the ones they love, Corporate Audit is undergoing a transformation to increase the usage of data and analytics through a modernization of the data infrastructure and capabilities leading to greater risk assurance. We are passionate in assisting the Auditors in understanding data, deriving insights, and making data-driven conclusions by utilizing technology.

The Team

The team consists consultants who have experience with coding, engineering, advanced analytics, and solution delivery. Since the team is small, you must be able to wear many hats and be ready to roll up your sleeves having the grit and determination to learn and accomplish many new things. In addition to superior technical knowledge, you must have excellent communication and collaboration skills as you navigate within the team and organization. Due to the nature of the change underway, you must be able to adapt to changing circumstances quickly and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

The Impact:

· Collaborate in delivering data-driven analytical solutions & timely insights via dashboards and reports

· Design, develop, and maintain data management infrastructure and pipelines to facilitate and support data collection from multiple source systems, data analysis and modeling, and reporting within Corporate Audit

· Involvement in all aspects of data integration projects - from business requirements and interface discovery and definition through design, modeling, and development, to testing and deployment

· A solid grounding in data-driven applications and concepts (data/object modeling, database systems, structured and unstructured data, enterprise data frameworks)

· Build data governance, master data management, data quality, and data security processes ensuring alignment with enterprise standards

· Maintain data management plans and operations playbooks for architecture and systems created

· Follow CI/CD (continuous-integration and deployment) pipeline to ensure seamless migration across development, QA and production environments

· Follow agile development methodology to deliver timely solution

· Successfully lead and manage all facets of agile project delivery including, but not limited to, sprint planning, scrum execution, team organization, project risk assessment, implementation and reporting

The Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor degree in Business, Information Technology, Economics, Computer Science, or Mathematics

· Prefer some life insurance background

· Deep proficiency in data architecture and data management principles – traditional RDBMS, MPP appliances, columnar repositories, distributed-data technologies, and cloud platforms

· Five or more years of experience using SQL

· Three or more years of experience using Python, R, Java, and/or Unix scripting

· Advanced understanding of SQL including stored procedures, index, cursors, user defined functions, common table expressions, and columnar search databases

· Experienced in agile & waterfall project-management methodologies

· Excellent attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Ideal Qualifications

· Some experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Airflow, Docker, and AWS preferred

· Basic to intermediate understanding of data governance, master data management, data lineage, data quality, and data security
