We are looking for a Data Architect to drive our analytics capabilities at Hi Marley forward giving us increased capabilities to derive key insights into our customer’s usage and ultimately impact their experiences.
In this role you will design and build data solutions and be the custodian of our data, working as part of our engineering team to shape and design new products and services. You will be responsible for designing and implementing data warehouse solutions – including, data pipeline optimization, transformation, modeling, and metadata management to support various advanced analytics needs and solve a wide array of business problems. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products, analytics initiatives and increasing scale.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with data and analytics experts to ensure data solutions are available to support our growing product suite and internal analytics needs
- Recommend and implement solutions to optimize database architecture allowing expanded functionality and improved performance (schema design and expansion/query optimization/index creation/stored procedure creation/etc.)
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, improving live monitoring, etc.
- Create and Automate data integration testing throughout the data lifecycle
- Perform deep analysis of issues – diving into complex data problems (e.g. performance issues, locking/blocking issues, etc.) and driving towards scalable solutions
- Ensure database implementations comply with internal and external regulations
- Optimize multi-tenant database architecture, building functionality to enable analytics solutions that allow for flexibility in connecting to different data models while constraining to tenant-specific data
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering, Information Systems or equivelant experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases, both SQL and NoSQL
- Experience building and managing data pipelines, including ETL/ELT, data delivery, monitoring & data QA
- Experience with or a desire to learn machine learning techniques and technologies
- Experience with BI tools as a data exposure layer (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, etc.)
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience mentoring and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
