We at the Rue Gilt Groupe (RGG) are looking for an accomplished data architect that can help us deliver on complex data engineering problems. With millions of members and products, Rue Gilt Groupe’s flash sale model signifies ever changing patterns in data and provides innovative opportunities to deliver solutions for complex business use cases and requirements.

The data team has been on the cutting edge of data technologies and tools, for example we were early adopters of the Snowflake cloud data warehousing platform and continue to find opportunities to innovate and stay ahead of the curve. Most importantly our solutions benefit many teams here at the RGG.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect storage, ETL and query capability of large datasets, e.g. think billions of rows of clickstream data
• Architect solutions with a team of developers to design all aspects of data warehouse including ETL and integrating with external data partners and teams
• Implement complex SQL using Oracle & Snowflake in our cloud data platform
• Set standards for data management and conceive projects needed to eliminate the gap between current and future goals
• Work with the business intelligence team to democratize access through Tableau
• Collaborate with product and business partners to define team direction
• Provide coaching and mentoring to uplevel teams across all phases of dimensional modelling, from conceptualization to implementation and query optimization
• Provide direction to development team on proper use of cutting edge tools such as streaming, schema on read and real-time data access
• Utilize agile development methodology to deliver on data projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Management Information Sciences, Computer Science, or similar studies (STEM).
• 7-10 years or more of data analysis, data modeling, data integration experience, working alongside business and engineering teams in support of projects and business initiatives
• Familiarity with BI ecosystem – especially Tableau
• Knowledge of Agile development methodology and concepts
