The Provider Insights & Claims Analytics (PICA) team is a blend of technology, data, and consulting professionals leveraging the latest tools and methods to solve complex business problems. In this role, the Business Intelligence Lead will solve complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Business Intelligence Lead describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action. The PICA Business Intelligence Lead will:

  • Work directly with market and corporate executives and their teams, helping them leverage data and technology to maximize business impact
  • Assess business processes and recommend improvements
  • Partner with business teams and analytics/technology professionals to identify data and technology related needs
  • Write queries to pull/summarize/analyze data from various data sets and platforms
  • Analyze data to derive insights
  • Create repeatable, automated ETL packages
  • Build online interactive reports
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide consultation to business teams related to processes, data, and technology
  • Provide mentoring and indirect leadership to teammates with respect to consultative and technical skills in order to promote best practices and grow the organization

               

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong SQL knowledge, including writing complex, performant queries to pull data from multiple platforms including SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools including Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated ETL processes in tools/languages such as MS Azure Data Factory, SnapLogic, Python, SSIS to generate recurring data sets
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Experience acting in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with Netezza, Oracle, DB2, and Microsoft Azure
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
  • Expertise in Humana’s claims data, healthcare provider data, and other data sets
  • Six Sigma or other process improvement certification
