Looking for a company that embraces new technology and utilizes data in interesting ways? Corvus Insurance seeks a talented Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. We are a dynamic team of entrepreneurial professionals with backgrounds in insurance and technology creating a commercial insurance company that combines the latest technology with traditional insurance. You will be instrumental in building Business Intelligence solutions that identify and analyze actionable data for our users, both internal and external.

Responsibilities 

  • Work with business in translating functional requirements into technical data analysis, requirements and design 
  • Enhance and expand current reporting capabilities through building purpose built data sets to support operational and analytical needs
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence analysts to create easy-to-use, flexible reporting solutions to meet business needs
  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements to turn existing manual processes into automated workflow(s)
  • Coordinate with engineering and product teams on roadmaps to scale technical solution(s) through dependency and risk assessments 
  • Improve data reliability and quality through automated data reconciliations and investigation
  • Challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas in tackling new problems and evaluating new technologies
  • Interact and present to all levels of the organization

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years professional experience related role including Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Engineer or similar
  • Proficient in SQL with ability to interpret and manage complex queries
  • Minimum +1 year developing using ETL tooling (e.g. Matillion (preferred), Fivetran, SSIS)
  • Relational database and SQL experience with Redshift, Postgres, MySQL
  • Detail oriented; quality over quantity mindset
  • Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities and experience
  • Proficient with Google Docs and/or Microsoft Office tools
  • Insurance background preferred
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, Excel, Power BI, etc. a plus
