OPPORTUNITY This market-leading financial services company is seeking analysts for a 2-year, full-time developmental experience called “immerse,” a unique opportunity across MassMutual’s Strategy, Corporate Development and Consumer & Market Insights functions. This job offers simultaneous exposure to the nature of work done across strategy consulting firms, investment banks and bespoke research firms. Leadership teams consist of high-caliber professionals from management consulting and investment banking backgrounds with deep functional expertise, who mentor analysts in an apprenticeship setting. immerse is aimed at transforming bright, enterprising graduates into confident, dynamic professionals with a strong foundation in structured thinking, problem-solving, quantitative, and qualitative analysis. Analysts will build expertise across a wide and deep range of topics that are broadly transferable across several attractive career paths and leadership roles.

After the initial two years, immerse participants are expected to transition to new roles, and may continue within the group (e.g., promotion to a senior role within a function), or in a position outside the group (e.g., business building and operational roles) or outside MassMutual (e.g., Private Equity, Venture Capital, Consulting, Business School, etc.).

ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Creatively brainstorm with other members of the team to break-down complex, unstructured problems into sizeable and logical “working assertions”
  • Structure and communicate point of view(s) to prove or disprove working assertions; including competitive research and expert interviews
  • Analyze financial statements and interpret trends; build quantitative, financial models to value assets and evaluate business plans
  • Build client relationships through interactions across the business; participate and actively capture takeaways from executive meetings and develop compelling presentation skills
  • Be an energetic member of the team and take ownership of team morale and culture; proactively highlight ways to improve the experience for yourself and other members of team; lead by example

REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or attainment by June 2020)
  • Strong academic achievements complemented by extracurricular, team achievements showcasing leadership responsibilities
  • Evidence of quantitative skillset through course selection or certifications 
  • Creative, high-energy problem solving with strong reasoning skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. with or without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred majors include Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering or similar
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5
  • Past internship experience in either management consulting or financial services
