Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer

Our Opportunity

Chewy is hiring a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our HR System Integrations team. The ideal candidate will have extensive and diverse experience building dashboards, visualizations and algorithms using programs including, but ideally not limited to, Tableau. The candidate will use these tools to present key metrics for various teams’ use cases using cloud-based data sources such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). What you’ll do:

• Understand your business stakeholders’ objectives and how to present metrics that help achieve those objectives
• Drive the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of various reporting dashboards
• Develop and maintain requirements documentation on each dashboard and maintain that documentation over time
• Perform as scrum master for dashboard specific stories, tasks, etc.
• Learn from and share knowledge and skills with your teammates to grow Corporate Systems BI’s impact to the organization

What you’ll need:

• • 5+ years Tableau developer experience/skills; experience with other reporting tools a major plus
  • 5+ years experience using cloud-based data sources for BI reports
  • 3+ years’ experience with scripting languages such as Python or Unix (big plus will be experience with Java, JavaScript, Perl, Tcl, or Smalltalk)
  • 2+ years’ experience working within a specific data category/structure (e.g. Recruiting, Financials, or ideally HR), and producing multiple dashboards from that structure
  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills, the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions, and be self-driven
  • 2+ years’ experience using SQL/maintaining databases
  • 1+ years experience with Agile methodology; scrum master certification a plus
