About this role

Data Implementation Specialist – Associate

About This Role

Aladdin Data – Solutions drives the evolution of Aladdin's enterprise analytics data assets and production capabilities. We implement data and analytics solutions for BlackRock and Aladdin clients, delivering scalable, high-quality outcomes that support investment decision-making, risk management, compliance, and reporting.

Our Data Implementation team leads the onboarding of investment data across asset classes—fixed income, equities, derivatives, and private markets. We partner directly with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, configure data workflows, and ensure successful adoption of Aladdin's data and analytics platform.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the intersection of investment data, technology, and client delivery. You'll gain exposure to the full investment lifecycle while helping shape the future of how data powers the investment process.

The Data Implementations business process is undergoing a multi-year transformation program to improve scale, user and client experience, process performance, and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will play an active role in this transformation work as a subject matter expert and agile squad team member. The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging AI tools, including LLMs and Agentic workflows, to streamline and automate financial business processes. Absent explicit experience, formal training or certification in relevant AI tools is valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the onboarding of new clients to the Aladdin platform, with a focus on reference data and analytics configuration.

  • Serve as a key liaison between clients, internal stakeholders, and client business teams, translating business needs into data solutions and ensuring successful adoption of Aladdin's data and analytics platform.

  • Manage data workstreams, including scope definition, requirements gathering, and milestone tracking.

  • Source and reconcile data from external parties such as asset managers, custodians, and clients; guide them through interface design, testing, and production readiness.

  • Leverage tools like Excel and Python to perform large-scale data reconciliations in support of data platform migrations and onboarding efforts; apply AI-assisted scripts or tools where applicable to improve speed and accuracy.

  • Monitor and validate production data inputs and outputs across internal and external sources; utilize AI-powered anomaly detection and quality checks to proactively identify and resolve data issues.

  • Investigate and resolve complex data issues; perform ad hoc analysis on large datasets under tight deadlines.

  • Educate clients on Aladdin data conventions and workflows; deliver training and documentation, leveraging AI tools to accelerate content generation and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to improve data quality, reduce risk, and scale processes.

  • Contribute to innovative efforts by prototyping new solutions and refining best practices, including exploring how AI and Agentic workflows can automate and elevate delivery.

What You'll Gain

  • Deep expertise in the Aladdin® end-to-end investment platform.

  • Broad exposure to global markets and asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Privates, and Alternatives.

  • Hands-on experience with data modeling, analytics, and production workflows.

  • Opportunities to drive innovation and shape the future of investment data solutions, including real-world exposure to how AI is transforming data implementation and client delivery.

  • Client-facing experience through direct engagement with asset managers, custodians, and institutional clients to source, validate, and onboard investment data.

  • A collaborative, high-performing team culture that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Skills

We're looking for fast learners and independent thinkers who bring fresh perspectives and a passion for solving complex problems with data and technology.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in investment or data technology roles

  • Strong understanding of investment data and analytics, with working knowledge of fixed income concepts (e.g., duration, convexity, tracking error, scenario analysis) and instruments (e.g., bonds, futures, swaps, securitized products, FX); experience with private markets is a plus

  • Familiarity with market/external data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters/LSEG, IDC, Markit, IBOXX, FTSE/Russell, etc.)

  • Experience sourcing data from managers, custodians, and clients, and guiding them through interface design, testing, and onboarding is a plus

  • Understanding of reference data workflows and conventions; ability to apply them in client onboarding and production environments is a plus

  • Proficient in Excel; experience using UNIX, PERL/Python, and SQL for large-scale data reconciliation and analysis is a plus

  • Familiarity with AI tools such as LLMs or Agentic frameworks, and how they can be applied to automate data workflows, accelerate analysis, and improve delivery outcomes; formal AI training or certification is a plus

  • Comfort working in a human-in-the-loop capacity—reviewing and validating AI-generated outputs as part of day-to-day workflows

  • Proven ability to manage complex data projects and deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; able to engage effectively with clients and senior stakeholders

  • Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills
