Position Overview:

We’re looking for a Data Implementation Engineer to help drive our data transformation efforts. This role is crucial in reimagining and rebuilding our data platform to ensure we stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape. You’ll be hands-on, using the latest tools like Apache Arrow, Polars, and Dagster to craft a data architecture that aligns with our innovative investment strategies. In this position, you’ll be deeply involved in building and optimizing data pipelines that are reliable, scalable, and fast. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our data infrastructure, supporting our ambitious investment goals.

 

Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • System Deep Dive: Quickly understand our current data systems, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Pipeline Development: Use the latest tools and foundations from our Data Platform Engineering group to develop new data pipelines that integrate with existing systems.
  • System Transition: Engage with systems to understand their operations and lead the transition to modern, efficient architectures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Integration and Analysis teams to modernize processes and ensure the smooth implementation of new data pipelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Constantly iterate and enhance our data infrastructure, ensuring it meets the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

 We’re Looking for Teammates With:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Strong background in data management, ideally 2+ years of experience within a financial or tech-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of modern data architectures and pipelines, including experience with Medallion architecture, data lakehouse, composable data systems, and microservices.
  • Familiarity with Data Mesh architecture for decentralized data ownership and management.
  • A passion for building systems that are efficient, scalable, and reliable.
  • An understanding of how your work fits into the broader investment process, ensuring the delivery of optimal outcomes for clients and driving business impact.
