About the role: 

Reporting directly to the CFO, The Data Engineer will own Double E's data lake and continuous improvement efforts for data integrity. We are completing Phase 1 of our data lake development and will look to this person to upgrade our data workflows, making it operational, reliable, and accessible. This role will design, build, and maintain data pipelines, models, and integrations that connect systems across finance, sales, operations, engineering, supply chain, and more. You will partner closely with business leaders and technical stakeholders to understand current data needs and future state initiatives.  

The ideal candidate is hands-on, curious, highly organized, and comfortable translating business requirements into practical technical solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to build foundational data capabilities for a global manufacturing business with a long history of innovation and continued growth.

Requirements


What you’ll do 

  • Build scalable, reliable ETL pipelines that extract, transform, and load data accurately and efficiently.  
  • Take over and own the Azure SQL environment. 
  • Maintain and build out the Power BI reporting suite as the business’s needs change 
  • Be the source of truth for data definitions from discovery — what counts as a booking, how a customer is identified across systems, quote status, etc... 
  • Consolidate our ERP systems across our 4 offices, including our international cohort. (InforVisual 10, InforVisual 8, Salesforce, and others). 
  • Improve data quality, consistency, governance, and documentation by identifying root causes, resolving issues, and establishing repeatable standards. 
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure data solutions are secure and reliable. 
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to modernize Double E’s data infrastructure, improve system connectivity, and support future growth. 
  • Work in person ~20% of the time at our Headquarters in West Bridgewater, MA or other office locations to understand our infrastructure, 

About you 

We are looking for someone who brings strong technical data skills, practical business judgment, and a collaborative mindset. 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence engineering, analytics engineering, database development, or a similar. 
  • Experience building ETL pipelines, data integrations, and automated workflows 
  • Prior professional experience with Microsoft data tools such as Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Synapse, SQL Server, or related platforms. 
  • Experience integrating data from ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, or other operational systems. 
  • Disciplined with data governance, management, and data cataloging. 
  • Ability to understand business processes, ask thoughtful questions, and translate operational needs into scalable data solutions. 
  • You would describe yourself as a strong visual storyteller, translating complex data and technical work into clear, compelling insights that support decision-making.  
  • A self-starter who is comfortable operating in a growing environment, prioritizing competing needs, and building practical solutions from the ground up. 

Bonus Points  

  • Experience with complex manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain data environments. 
  • Experience supporting analytics for a global or multi-site organization. 
  • Prior M&A experience integrating and merging company data systems to ensure accurate, scalable, and seamless post-transaction data consolidation.
