As a Data Engineer II, you'll operate as an independent owner-designing, implementing, and maintaining production-grade data workflows. What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming pipelines across Snowflake, AWS, and Kafka.
- Develop dbt Cloud models to standardize business metrics, enforce testing, and improve lineage visibility.
- Integrate data from multiple sources-including Kafka, APIs, S3, and internal systems-into unified datasets.
- Implement monitoring and alerting for data freshness, quality, and reliability.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and product partners to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Write clean, test-covered code and unit tests; apply secure coding principles.
- Ensure correct application of data validation and cleansing processes to all sources.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and documentation to drive best practices.
- Contribute to AI-driven modernization initiatives, such as LLM-assisted data quality checks and automation frameworks.
What You'll Need:
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt Cloud for modeling and orchestration.
- Familiarity with Kafka or other streaming systems.
- Hands-on Terraform proficiency to build and modify AWS/Snowflake data infrastructure-author simple modules, manage remote state/workspaces, and ship changes via CI/CD with rollback.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data modeling, and workflow orchestration.
- Awareness of data governance, observability, and testing best practices.
- Curiosity about AI-assisted engineering and a mindset of continuous experimentation.
- Clear, proactive communication and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Understanding of Agile methodology, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines

- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
