Position Overview:


Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Financial Analytics team, reporting to the Manager of Financial Analytics. This position involves developing and maintaining dashboards and reporting through Tableau and Excel to provide insight into the organization’s performance. Along with this, the Data Analyst will partner directly with department heads to perform weekly and monthly analyses along with ad hoc reporting to identify organization insight. They will proactively recommend reporting, process, and infrastructure improvements. They will automate business and reporting processes and partner with internal teams to improve workflow. This role offers visibility across the corporate team and interaction with key business leaders to support critical business processes, information generation, and insights.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with complex data, excellent communication skills, and possess advanced-level Tableau and Excel skills.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Perform weekly and monthly reporting updates, ensuring data quality and availability
  • Be responsible for the development and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and Excel reports
  • Partner with functional leaders to uncover and capture opportunities to improve organizational efficiency
  • Proactively identify and communicate new ideas or enhancements to existing reports, metrics, and analyses to measure and track business performance
  • Assist in developing automated reporting processes to streamline analysis
  • Become a subject matter expert and make recommendations to impact tracking of information necessary to drive business results
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to describe and memorialize information with respect to systems, reporting or data
  • Troubleshoot reporting and process issues, test and work with business to resolve any issues
  • Support team & organizational goals as needed

Education & Experience

 

  • 2+ years of experience as data or business intelligence analyst, developer, or engineer
  • 2+ years of developing dashboard, reporting and data processes using Tableau and Tableau Prep
  • Experience in communicating insight and technical processes to non-technical and executive audiences
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in owning reporting products and driving development projects
  • Must be a highly motivated, results-driven professional with an entrepreneurial attitude who can thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Growth-oriented and positive, problem-solving mindset
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail; methodical thinker
  • Effective at multi-tasking; someone who enjoys and thrives wearing multiple hats at once, seeks exposure to different perspectives, and learning new skills
  • Customer service oriented, flexible and adaptable with proven ability to solve problems in a collaborative manner with strong ability to influence
  • Experience with Python and R a plus

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, finance, business administration, or computer science required
  • Advanced degree a plus
