The Danaher Business System Director, Global Commercial is responsible for the development and implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) within the global commercial organization, focusing on Sales, Marketing, and Service. This role drives continuous improvement, commercial excellence, AI-enabled transformation, and capability building to achieve strategic and financial objectives.

The successful candidate will be a high-quality, capable leader with strong commercial and continuous improvement experience. They will be process-oriented and highly inclined to apply continuous improvement and their commercial experience to help the organization drive above market growth.

This position reports to the Vice President, Danaher Business System and is part of the Danaher Business System Office globally at Leica Microsystems. While our preferred work arrangement is onsite in Boston, Massachusetts given the collaboration with the local team and global commercial business, we are open to considering remote work arrangements from time zones that align with team collaboration needs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the deployment of the DBS Commercial Playbook, embedding a strong continuous improvement mindset and ensuring consistent, enterprise‑level adoption across global commercial teams.

  • Set and steer the annual DBS strategic agenda in partnership with senior commercial leaders, translating business priorities into a focused portfolio of high‑impact DBS initiatives.

  • Oversee execution of critical DBS Growth tools—including Funnel Management, Pricing Excellence, Transformative Marketing, and Product Launch Excellence—to elevate commercial capabilities and accelerate sustainable revenue growth.

  • Champion operational excellence by identifying systemic workflow barriers and leading enterprise‑level waste‑elimination and process‑simplification efforts that enhance speed, quality, and scalability.

  • Develop DBS capability across the organization through executive‑level coaching in Policy Deployment, Daily Management, Problem Solving Process, and Kaizen, ensuring leadership teams can drive continuous improvement independently.

  • Partner with regional and global commercial leadership teams to align on DBS priorities, harmonize execution approaches, and foster cross‑market collaboration and best‑practice sharing.

  • Shape the future of DBS tools and methodologies by providing strategic field insights and serving as the primary interface with the Danaher Corporate DBS Office to influence tool enhancements and accelerate adoption.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 10+ years of commercial leadership experience across sales, marketing, or service; direct quota‑carrying sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven Continuous Improvement/Business Excellence leadership, including prior DBS experience (for internal Danaher candidates) or equivalent CI methodologies.

  • Demonstrated high‑potential leadership profile, with a strong record of achievement, strategic impact, and ambition for continued growth.

  • AI‑literate with the ability to integrate AI tools into commercial processes to enhance effectiveness, insights, and decision‑making.

  • Experience leading within complex, matrixed, and international organizations, influencing without authority and driving alignment across diverse teams.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 50% globally per business needs

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated successful experience as a Danaher Business System Leader with extensive DBS experience.

  • Experience developing and owning strategic plan initiatives and policy deployment.

  • Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training and facilitation environments.

The annual salary range for this role is $250,000 - $270,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
