CUSTOMER SUCCESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Cognex Corporation invests in talent. One way we do this is through our Customer Success Development Program, a full-time paid opportunity for recent college undergraduates. This program is primarily designed to train and engage emerging professionals in areas of Customer Success, including Application Engineering, Sales Enablement, Project Management, Field Service, and Customer Support. Additionally, you will gain exposure to adjacent areas of the business such as Sales, Product Marketing, and Product Management as you support Customers throughout their Cognex journeys.

The Customer Success Development Program seeks to cultivate highly skilled, productive and committed Cognoids who will help lead Cognex’s future success. Program participants will develop engineering & commercial skills, increase their technical competence and gain market knowledge by working on critical business projects. Each candidate hired into the program will be able to make immediate contributions to the business. Participation will require relocation to the Natick, MA area for the 12-month duration of the program and regular travel to other sites in the US. Following the program, you will secure a position within Cognex supporting one of our departments located in the continental US. 

Qualifications:

Cognex is looking for well-rounded, intelligent, creative and motivated candidates with a passion for getting results. Individuals with these characteristics will allow Cognex to develop a successful, broad-based organization and continue to lead the machine vision marketplace.

  • High energy and motivated learner that aspires to work on cutting-edge technologies and projects
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Drives change with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player who can work effectively with cross functional teams and willing to take the initiative to address problems without hesitation
  • Ability to travel frequently to various Cognex and customer facilities to support training efforts and business needs throughout the continental US. This will periodically require back-to-back trips.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Only open to Undergraduate Seniors and Masters students graduating in May 2027 [Program start date: June 2027]
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant field
  • Programming experience preferred: JS, Python, Java, C#

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

CSDP Assignments:

The program is a 12-month development program comprised of various assignments in multiple departments across Cognex, spread across the US.  The program targets the development of functional, technical, and leadership skills.  These assignments help our college graduates and managers determine where candidates will flourish in their full-time position at Cognex. 

  • Assignments span across several departments including, but not limited to: Application Engineering, Sales Enablement, Project Management, Field Service, and Customer Support
  • Assignments span across several industries including, but not limited to: Factory Automation, Logistics, Packaging, Semiconductor & Electronics
  • The number, length, and location of assignments will fluctuate depending on business need
  • The program concludes with the participants collaborating on a group project that is presented to executives prior to graduation

CSDP Training:

Participants are offered exclusive training throughout the program in many important developmental areas including, but not limited to:

  • Introduction to Cognex Corporation
  • Cognex culture and leadership
  • Technical instruction & product overviews
  • Machine vision and ID technology industry overview
  • Project management
  • Communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiating skills

CSDP Networking:

The program offers a unique opportunity to network with colleagues and executives from day one. Through formal introductions with executives, team building exercises with colleagues and hands on work experience, participants are immediately immersed in the corporate culture in order to hit the ground running!

CSDP Corporate Culture and Socialization:

Cognex embraces the need for camaraderie in the workplace understanding that it fosters collaboration and teamwork. Through exclusive outings and group events the program allows members to quickly acclimate and form lasting relationships in the industry

A reasonable estimate of the base salary for this role is 80,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a sales incentive plan.

This position provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching; employer-paid disability, family leave, life insurance, paid time off (including holidays), optional voluntary benefits, and recognition and wellness programs.
