To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Customer Quality Engineer.
Reporting to the Quality Director, the Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) will be the primary interface between the customer and internal organizations to ensure customer quality and reliability requirements are met and respond to any quality issues that arise. The CQE in cooperation with Sales and technical support teams will provide quality, reliability, and compliance support.
What a typical day looks like:
- Reviews customer quality and reliability requirements, identifies and communicates potential issues and provides recommendations that will meet both the capabilities of Flex and the specifications of the customer.
- Gathers data and prepares quality and reliability reports as needed to support customer throughout the development cycle to end of life.
- Drives cross-functions teams to ensure all customer quality issues are resolved timely.
- Prepares 8D reports of root cause investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone methodologies.
- Coordinates customer surveys related to Quality, Reliability, Qualifications, Safety and Environmental Compliance.
- Uses technical knowledge of products to assist customers with complex application issues.
- Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with product and business development teams.
- Identifies and communicates existing and potential quality issues both internally and externally.
- Develops and presents technical seminars for customers and sales personnel to promote employers' manufacturing capabilities, services, available technologies, manufacturing process and quality.
- Communicates frequently with customer, production and design locations globally.
- Performs data analysis and reporting of quality metrics and trends.
- Recommends design or process improvements.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team,
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in quality or reliability engineering role troubleshooting complex electrical systems. Power engineering experience preferred
- Deep understanding of electrical components, systems, and manufacturing processes
- Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Exercises independent judgment using ambiguously defined procedures and policies; may propose/provide input to defining methods, standards, policies, and procedures
