Brief Overview of Position

The SAG Credit Analyst role is positioned within the Special Assets Group and reports to the head of Special Assets. This role brings experience in core tasks dedicated to the underwriting and restructuring function, which is integral to the success of each line of business (LOB) SAG supports, helping to drive the strategic vision set forth by Texas Capital Bank. TCB SAG unit is a dynamic, creative team focused on problem solving and creating structures and transactions to optimize the TCB platform.

This position will support the SAG team. The Analyst will provide support for more senior colleagues in delivering best-in-class client experience and comprehensive financial solutions to clients across a broad array of industries. SAG provides solutions for problem credits for all LOBs and is client facing. The SAG Analyst will experience a very diverse set loan/credit of situations, attend client calls and meetings, and absorb the financial and credit fundamentals and legal principals of workouts, restructuring and bankruptcy.

Responsibilities:

To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to process large amounts of information, communicating in a clear and concise manner, and develop innovative solutions for our clients, all while maintaining a strong and efficient attention to detail. Depending on alignment, key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Create financial statements, spreads and analyze data

  • Participate in the analysis, evaluation, and underwriting of proposed credit facilities for prospects and customers

  • Support Portfolio Manager in credit approval process (new customers, modifications, increases, risk assessments)

  • Support Portfolio Manager in portfolio reporting and analytics (grade migration, past-dues, exceptions, coming-due, ticklers etc.)

  • Work with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers to assess credit opportunities, identify key risks, and structure alternatives

  • Assist in the preparation of credit packages

  • Initiate background checks/credit reports

  • Coordinate internal discussions

  • Assist in exception tracking, clearing & reporting

  • Conduct research on borrowers and industries

  • Special projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of commercial underwriting experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Commercial Banking, or equivalent/relevant program

  • Interest in a long-term career in Banking.

  • Passion for financial services and delivering superior client experiences.

  • Enjoy thrill of deal.

  • Extraordinary levels of motivation and initiative

  • Effective team players who want to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build working relationships across the organization

  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce reports, memos, and presentations
