Who we are

We're Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. (If you checked the weather, used your credit card, or looked at your flight status online today, you’re welcome.) At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences. You in?

Why would you love this job?

You’ll be the fifth member of a tight global commercial and product legal team supporting Redis’ global go-to-market, where you’ll own your workstreams from day one while getting hands-on mentorship from experienced in-house lawyers. The work spans enterprise SaaS, software licensing, and international commercial agreements across Redis’ global customer base, which includes more than 75% of the Fortune 50.

This role is built for someone with curiosity and drive: curiosity to understand the business behind every deal, and drive to own outcomes, not just tasks. The pace is fast, the deals are real, and you’ll be in the room for the ones that matter.

We’re actively building an AI-augmented legal function, and you’ll have a direct hand in shaping what that looks like, from playbook design to contract workflow automation.

You’ll report directly to the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial & International, and partner with colleagues around the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS subscriptions, software licenses, NDAs, DPAs, and vendor/supplier contracts.

  • Support senior counsel on complex deal structuring and negotiations.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Deal Desk, Product, and Security to align contracts with business goals and risk frameworks.

  • Support new product launches by drafting and reviewing customer-facing terms and go-to-market agreements.

  • Advise on privacy matters and support compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, and others).

  • Improve contract templates, playbooks, and processes, including through AI-powered tools.

  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance to internal stakeholders.

  • Opportunities to collaborate in the broader book of business in the Legal Team.

What will you need to have?

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active admission to a US state bar in good standing.

  • 2–4 years of experience in commercial, SaaS, or technology transactions (law firm or in-house).

  • Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and software licensing models.

  • Curiosity to dig into the “why” behind business and legal problems, not just the “what.”

  • A bias toward ownership: you follow through, close loops, and don’t wait to be told what’s next.

  • Clear, concise communication skills and strong organizational instincts.

  • Genuine interest in adopting AI-based legal tools and working at the frontier of how legal teams operate.

Extra great if you have:

  • Prior in-house experience at a high-growth technology company.

  • Undergraduate degree in business, computer science, or a technology-related field.

  • Experience with multi-state commercial contracts or vendor negotiations.

  • Proficiency in a second language (French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese).

We give back to our employees:

Our culture is what makes Redis a fun and rewarding place to work. To support you at work and beyond, we offer all our US team members fantastic benefits and perks:

  • Competitive salaries and equity grants

  • Unlimited time off to promote a healthy work-life balance

  • H/D/V coverage along with 401K, FSA, and commuter benefits

  • Frequent team celebrations and recreation events

  • Home internet & phone stipend

  • Learning and development opportunities

  • Ability to influence a high-performance company on its way to IPO

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
