As a Corporate Compliance Consultant with American Family Insurance you'll help safeguard our organization by ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, corporate policies, and ethical standards while ensuring our decisions. You'll lead efforts related to regulatory inquiries and market conduct exams, investigate potential agent fraud and misconduct, and collaborate across the business to find and address compliance and ethics risks before they become issues.
As a trusted advisor, you'll partner with leaders and teams to strengthen processes, implement effective risk management controls, and balance regulatory requirements with our goals. You'll play a key role in fostering a culture of integrity. This involves promoting our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics. You'll also deliver engaging education and awareness initiatives, and help employees understand how ethical decision-making drives long-term success. This success benefits our company, customers, and communities.
You will report to the Director, Corporate Compliance.

Position Compensation Range:

$62,000.00 - $103,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

• Research and interpret regulatory findings, market conduct exam reports and legislative alerts for trends and potential business impact.

• Assist teams in assessing business procedures for gaps that may expose the company to compliance or ethics risks.

• Conduct surveys and interviews of department employees to determine if business practices, or absence of practices, present regulatory, ethical, or legal compliance risks.

• Distribute compliance risk questionnaires on an annual basis to department compliance liaisons to obtain information about business processes in place to ensure regulatory, ethical, and legal compliance.

• Identify compliance deficiencies and areas of risk and works with teams to develop and implement risk mitigation plans.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service

• Demonstrated experience interfacing with regulators; writing responses and developing action plans to address findings or risks.

• Demonstrated experience investigating fraud or misconduct allegations.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry and the regulatory environment.

  • To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week.  This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth.  At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

In this hybrid role you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month put of the Madison, WI or Boston, MA offices.
