Homestead Studio
We are an email marketing agency specializing in growing eCommerce brands by creating exciting, engaging, and personalized messaging across email and SMS channels. Our expertise in email and SMS marketing allows our clients to cultivate relationships with potential customers and build lasting relationships with current customers to create lifetime value.

About the role

We’re looking for a seasoned conversion and AI-first copywriter who understands that the future of marketing isn’t about writing every word yourself – it’s about combining experienced strategic thinking with AI workflows and expert editing to produce exceptional work.

In this role, you’ll create high-performing email, SMS, and landing page copy for leading DTC brands while leveraging AI throughout the creative process. You’ll still be responsible for developing original concepts and compelling marketing angles, but you’ll use AI as a vehicle to research, brainstorm, draft, iterate, and refine deliverables faster than ever before.

This is a highly collaborative role. You’ll work in lockstep with your Account Strategists to combine strategy, customer insights, and AI systems to produce client deliverables that exceed performance expectations.

Success in this role is measured by the quality, speed, and effectiveness of the final product.

If you’re excited by AI, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love turning ideas into high-performing campaigns, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with account strategists and clients to create monthly email marketing strategy across assigned accounts
  • Own copy and content strategy deliverables for assigned accounts, including top-of-month content calendar planning
  • Write campaigns and automated emails and SMS for assigned accounts
  • Write landing page and ad copy to support acquisition efforts
  • Interpret performance data and platform insights to refine messaging strategy and recommend next steps when needed
  • Balance speed and quality in a fast-paced environment with compressed turnaround times, shifting priorities, client communication delays, and last-minute pivots
  • Prioritize and manage day-to-day workload across assigned accounts, with manager support when priorities conflict
  • Use independent judgment in planning copy deliverables, shaping messaging direction, and developing copy and content recommendations
  • Challenge briefs and help shape messaging direction when opportunities to improve clarity, brand alignment, or performance are identified
  • Influence strategists, designers, and clients through clear copy and content recommendations
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with key account players, including account managers, designers, and strategists
  • Provide close attention to detail on all assets created, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to client brand guidelines
  • Stay well-organized with creative files and content calendars
  • Research and stay up to date on industry trends, testing approaches, and ideas for improving campaign performance
  • Work closely with the copy team to advance department goals and share learnings that strengthen the broader team
  • Regularly participate in client onboardings
  • Keep all relevant copywriting and marketing certifications up to date
  • This role is expected to prioritize its own workload across accounts and exercise independent judgment in drafting recommendations, planning deliverables, and shaping messaging direction.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of copywriting experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing email, SMS, landing pages, paid ads, and other marketing assets.
  • Experience writing both acquisition and retention marketing copy.
  • Strong editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar to accelerate research, ideation, drafting, editing, and iteration.
  • Ability to write effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated content critically, and refine outputs to meet brand voice, performance, and quality standards.
  • Ability to balance speed with quality while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of customer psychology and direct-response marketing.
  • Experience in eCommerce is required.
Additional Information

This is a fully remote role. Candidates must be able to work standard business hours (9:00am–5:00pm) in ET, CT, MT, or PT time zones.

Homestead Studio is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or genetic information. Homestead is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.

Note on Application Responses
We strongly encourage applicants to answer questions in their own words. While tools like ChatGPT can be helpful for organizing or polishing your thoughts, it is very easy to recognize when responses are copied and pasted without personalization. Candidates who use AI in that way are typically less successful in our process. Please treat your responses as an opportunity to show us how you think and communicate.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
