We are passionate about getting physicians and healthcare providers away from the keyboard and back to clinical care.  We are growing rapidly and need a strong Controller to manage that growth in the accounting and treasury functions.

Overview

The Controller is a member of the Finance team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. They track revenue, expenses, cash flow and all balance sheet accounts to ensure the business remains financially healthy. The team also handles invoicing, billing, and managing financial transactions including payroll, while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, the Finance team analyzes financial data to provide insights for business growth and sustainability. 

The Controller will be responsible for the overall structure of the accounting system and the accounting functions. As a hands-on, detail-oriented controller of CodaMetrix, the individual will take on a breadth of responsibilities, including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger, compliance and creating timely and accurate financial statements. In addition, the strategic responsibilities will include helping with budgeting, as well as investor focused due diligence requests. The Controller will lead other members in the accounting function, own the month-end close process, and provide analytical financial insight. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to scale efficiently, manage resources, and drive profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Own the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial statements and maintain account reconciliations that support the month end generated reports.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and oversee audit preparation, including liaising with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Support tax filings and tax planning efforts, working closely with external tax advisors.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, billing and collections, and account reconciliation to optimize cash management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within accounting and finance functions.
  • Implement best practices for financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows to streamline operations.
  • Timely updates to periodic loan covenant reporting requirements.
  • Evolve the current company policies on revenue recognition, deferred tax calculations, stock-based compensation and software capitalization as necessary
  • Reconcile cash and balance sheet accounts.
  • Migrate accounting systems to scale the organization through significant growth.
  • Manage Fixed Asset and Depreciation schedules.
  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process working closely with the Director of Strategic Finance.
 Requirements  
  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 8+  years of experience in accounting and/or finance
    • Controller level experience with startup companies
    • Proficient in US GAAP and financial reporting standards
    • Able to manage end-to-end accounting
    • Supervisory experience
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and, ideally, experience upgrading a general ledger system from Quickbooks.
    • Ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives
    • Demonstrated experience managing audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Preferred
    • CPA with public accounting experience
    • Experience working within a SaaS company
    • Healthcare, IT, or AI technology company experience
    • Experience migrating to mid-size enterprise accounting systems
    • Managing an accounting team
The estimated hiring range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000 (plus applicable bonus/plus equity). This hiring range could vary by region based upon local market data. Final salary is ultimately decided upon taking into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to: skills and experience, licensure and certifications, education, specific location and dynamic market data.
