Join J.P. Morgan's Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), a global leader in Global Banking, Markets, Securities Services, and Payments. As a Control Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. Are you a thoughtful and innovative leader ready to make an impact? As a Control Manager within CIB Finance, you will be part of a team that has keen focus on identifying risks and assisting in the development of risk mitigation strategies. You will monitor risks through KPIs and other early warning tools, engaging with cross-disciplinary teams to build creative solutions and advance the control agenda.
Job responsibilities
  • Support the Commercial and Investment Bank Finance and Business Management Securities Services Control function.
  • Participate in delivering the monthly control governance materials to Product Controllers within Securities Services.
  • Manage the control populations and deliverables involving the firm's enterprise control management system.
  • Champion compliance with firm standards and requirements.
  • Prioritize and manage deliverables with urgency and efficiency.
  • Identify, escalate, and analyze operational errors for risk assessment.
  • Manage Issue Management protocol and understand Product/Service Change Management and New Business Initiative Approval processes.
  • Collaborate with our global teams to provide assistance and feedback on best practices.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • 5+ years of Control Management, Finance, Audit, or Operational risk experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and search for proactive solutions.
  • A technology-forward mentality.
  • Effective listener with an ability to 'Negotiate to Yes' during contentious moments.
  • High level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
  • Continuous demonstration of intellectual curiosity, leading to improvement and learning opportunities for the team.
  • Thorough understanding of risk dimensioning, Inherent and Residual risks markers, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with the structure and purpose of the three lines of defense.
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree, with concentration in Business (Finance/Accounting or related field preferred).
  • Experience with risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of audit engagement.
  • Project management skills.
