Who We Are:

Cogent Biosciences is a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on developing novel precision therapies to treat a broad range of patients with unmet medical needs. Cogent’s lead program, bezuclastinib, is designed to selectively and potently inhibit exon 17 mutations found within the KIT receptor tyrosine kinase, including KIT D816V. KIT D816V is responsible for driving a rare and serious condition called Systemic Mastocytosis, and exon 17 mutations are also found in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), a type of cancer with strong dependence on oncogenic KIT signaling. Bezuclastinib has exhibited promising initial data across all three trials: APEX in AdvSM, SUMMIT in NonAdvSM and PEAK in GIST, including an encouraging safety profile across 600+ patients in single agent and combination dosing. 

The Role: The Contracts Specialist will assist Legal team members with responsibilities relating to contract lifecycle operations, including contract initiation, negotiation, and administration. This role will work with internal stakeholders across the company and external partners. The position will report to the Senior Contracts Manager. 

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare, draft, and negotiateassigned contracts, including CDAs/NDAs, SOWs, Task Orders, and Order Forms, ensuring all terms and conditions are clear, compliant, and aligned with company policies and legal requirements, escalating complex issues to senior staff. 
  • Coordinate acceptance and signature processes with appropriate signatories.
    • Maintain contract records and track key information incompany’s contract lifecycle management platform, ensuring all contracts are accurately tracked, updated, and accessible for review. 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding contract-related inquiries and status updates.  
  • Assist with onboarding ofcompany personnel to contracting SOPs and platforms including providing ongoing training and support across departments on contracting processes and best practices. 
  • Support development and maintenance ofcontracts guidance documentation.
    • Participate in internal strategic initiatives and projects as assigned. May be asked to support other tasks and projects. 

Qualifications:


Required: 

  • Proficient with using Agiloft Contracts Lifecycle Management platform. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in a field related to this position or equivalent work experience. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in contracts administration, and/or legal-related experience, with contracts. 
  • Team player – willingness to get the job done for the team and pitch in when needed 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams). 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • In-depth analytical skills to dissect, interpret, and effectively manage contract clauses. 
  • Resilience in handling unexpected demands and sudden changes in contract negotiations and workflows. 
  • Ability to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision. 
  • Proven capability to balance multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently. 
  • Ability to work with teams and individuals of varying working styles, customizing approaches based on dynamics and situational needs, including working in a virtual environment. 

This is primarily a remote role; however, the candidate must be able to attend on-site monthly team meetings and other activities, as needed.

Salary Range:

$95,000 - 110,000 USD 

Target Bonus: 10%
Exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
