Tax Preparer - Temporary

About the Role

Salary: $45 - $53/hr 

This is a temporary position looking to be filled from April 2025 - September 2025. Upon completion of this contract there may be full time opportunities available.

We are looking for a Tax Preparer - Temporary to provide a broad spectrum of support to our customers. The ideal candidate will be committed to accurate and timely tax preparation and have the ability to communicate effectively to a range of tax payers. The role of the april Pro team is to provide first-in-class tax preparation to april customers. The team is imperative in assisting customers with their tax filings, helping US taxpayers navigate through one of the most challenging times of the year. The team owns the tax preparation experience from initial submission of tax documents to preparers, all the way through to post-filing follow-up questions from customers.

Responsibilities

• Consistently meet targets for customer satisfaction, issue resolution, and the economics of our april Pro organization.
• Define and maintain excellent service levels in our april Pro organization.
• Understand operational efficiency requirements and strive to constantly improve them.
• Work closely with clients to obtain personal information regarding potential deductions, grants, allowances, investments, real estate, etc.
• Inform clients of important paperwork and documentation needed to complete tax forms properly.
• Verify tax forms completed by clients to ensure their proper submission.
• Properly research and seek the advice of senior preparers when confronted with particularly challenging tax circumstances.
• Gather appropriate materials regarding yearly tax tables, instructions and forms to accurately calculate taxes.

Requirements  

• CPA or EA certification
• 5+ years of tax preparation experience
• ProSystems/Lacerte/CCH software expertise
• Experience conducting virtual interviews that will elicit confidence in our customers
• Tax planning and audit support
• Ability to prioritize and meet timely obligations with many clients
