Job Description

Contract Administration & Compliance

  • Review, administer, and manage construction contracts, subcontracts, and related project documentation.
  • Monitor contractual compliance and provide guidance on contractual obligations, rights, risks, and entitlements.
  • Ensure project teams adhere to contract conditions, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain contract registers, records, correspondence, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Claims, Variations & Dispute Management

  • Manage variation orders, change management processes, and contractual claims.
  • Prepare, assess, and negotiate Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
  • Support the evaluation and resolution of contractual disputes and commercial issues.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project exposure.

Commercial Management

  • Collaborate with project and commercial teams to ensure timely payment certifications, valuations, and invoicing.
  • Support cost control initiatives and monitor commercial performance to protect project profitability.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice to support project delivery and informed decision-making.
  • Assist in forecasting, reporting, and managing project commercial outcomes.

Contract Negotiation & Stakeholder Management

  • Support contract negotiations with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Act as a key point of contact for contractual matters across project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions and negotiations to achieve commercially favourable outcomes while maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Provide clear contractual guidance to project teams and management.

Risk Management & Governance

  • Conduct contract reviews and risk assessments to identify potential commercial and contractual issues.
  • Recommend strategies to manage contractual risks and improve project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of contract management processes and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in contract administration, commercial management, quantity surveying, or construction project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts such as PAM, FIDIC, PWD, NEC, or other industry-recognized forms of contract.
  • Demonstrated experience managing:
    • Variations and change orders
    • Extension of Time (EOT) claims
    • Payment certifications
    • Contract negotiations
    • Contractual claims and dispute resolution
  • Excellent understanding of contract administration, risk assessment, and commercial management practices.
  • Experience working on building, infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale construction projects is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with commercial management systems, ERP platforms, or project controls software is an added advantage.
