Position Overview

We are looking for an early-career Content Writer with 1 to 2 years of professional content-writing experience to join our marketing team. The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong command of English, and a keen eye for detail.

The role requires practical knowledge of AI-assisted content development. Candidates should know how to write effective AI prompts, identify weak or inaccurate content, and refine it into original, clear, well-structured content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write SEO-focused blogs based on approved content briefs.

  • Follow approved messaging, keywords, content structures, brand guidelines, and internal-linking requirements.

  • Create structured AI prompts using appropriate context, objectives, audience, source material, constraints, tone, and output requirements.

  • Use AI tools effectively for content ideation, outlining, and improvement.

  • Fact-check AI-assisted and researched content before submission and identify areas requiring subject matter expert review.

  • Develop content from approved source materials, SME interviews, transcripts, webinars, research documents, and existing BFG resources.

  • Identify repetition, generic language, poor structure, and other quality issues.

  • Edit AI-assisted drafts into original, natural, professional content.

  • Incorporate editorial feedback accurately and meet agreed deadlines.

*AI should improve productivity, but it does not replace critical thinking, originality, editing, or quality control.

Content Areas

Content may cover U.S. accounting, taxation, small business, business formation, payroll, financial systems, tax planning, CFO advisory, industry-specific business challenges, and BFG Tax Academy.

Prior accounting or tax knowledge is not required, but candidates must be willing and able to learn unfamiliar subjects and understand the material they are writing about.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, Commerce, Finance, or another relevant discipline. Candidates with other educational backgrounds may also be considered based on demonstrated writing ability.

  • 1 to 2 years of professional content-writing experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong English grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.

  • Keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to understand information and communicate it clearly.

  • Practical experience using AI tools for content development and writing effective prompts.

  • Ability to critically evaluate and improve AI-generated content.

  • Ability to manage assigned work, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic SEO knowledge, experience writing blogs or long-form digital content, familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar AI tools, and exposure to B2B, professional services, or educational content are preferred but not mandatory.

What We're Looking For

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
