About White Circle

White Circle is an AI Safety company building the safety, reliability, and optimization layer for AI systems. At the core of our platform are policies – simple natural-language rules that define what an AI model should and shouldn’t do. We automatically test, enforce, and continuously improve these policies at scale.

  • We’ve recently raised our Series A funding round of $70M (total funding of $81M) from top funds, founders, and senior leaders at OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Mistral, DeepMind, Datadog, Sentry, and others

  • We process over one hundred million API calls every month

  • We fine-tune and train our own LLMs so they run faster and cheaper than any open or proprietary model

We’re a small, highly focused team. If you want to work deeply on hard problems, see your work ship to production quickly, and influence how AI safety is actually built – you’re the one we need.

What you'll do
  • Own White Circle's content vision and editorial direction

  • Turn customer conversations into case studies, customer stories, and reference materials

  • Write and publish long-form content across Medium, Substack, LinkedIn, X, and our website

  • Develop technical and non-technical content explaining AI safety, evaluation, governance, and reliability

  • Create launch narratives for new products, features, and research initiatives

  • Partner closely with product, as well as supporting wider business teams where needed

  • Help founders maintain a consistent public voice across LinkedIn, X, conferences, and other channels

  • Build repeatable processes for content creation, publication, and distribution

  • Experiment with new formats, channels, and ways of reaching technical audience

We're looking for someone who
  • Is an exceptional writer

  • Can take a complex technical topic and explain it clearly without oversimplifying it

  • Knows how to find interesting stories inside products, customers, and technology

  • Has strong editorial judgment

  • Can independently identify what is worth publishing and what isn't

  • Has experience creating content for technical audiences

  • Can move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on writing

  • Is fluent in English

A big plus

  • You have an engineering, computer science, or technical background

  • You have built an audience through writing

  • You have a track record of making technical topics compelling, whether at a developer tools or AI company, in tech journalism, or through your own writing and audience

  • You've written content that materially influenced product adoption, company positioning, or revenue generation

Why White Circle
  • Meaningful salary and equity package

  • Paid time off in line with your local regulations, no matter where you work from

  • All the hardware, tools, and services you need

  • Full coverage for educational subscriptions

  • Team off-sites twice a year: we’ve recently been to the Alps and to Saint-Tropez

How we hire
  1. Intro call with HR (25 min)

  2. Take-home assignment

  3. Final conversation with our CEO and Head of Design (45 min)
    * an additional interview with one or more team members may be added depending on the interview process

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
