As a Content Designer, you’ll use language to bring clarity, consistency, and delight to the way our customers interact with our products. This role offers the opportunity to sharpen your skills, take on meaningful projects, and learn alongside experienced teammates. From in-app flows to product documentation, you’ll help shape the Sonos voice while building confidence and depth in your craft.

This role is a hybrid position
Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Seattle, Boston, or Goleta office locations. 

What You’ll Do

  • Write in-app UI content to support user flows-settings, dialogs, onboarding, system messages, and more

  • Contribute to product documentation, such as feature descriptions, user guides, quickstart guides

  • Work within Sonos’ established voice, tone, and terminology guidelines
    Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, researchers, and QA

  • Take direction from senior content designers and execute on well-defined strategies with attention to detail and consistency

  • Participate in team critiques, working sessions, and UX reviews

  • Review product builds and flows to ensure content is implemented accurately

  • Help evolve and maintain content patterns within our design system

What You’ll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • 2- 4 years of experience in UX writing, content design, or a related discipline

  • A portfolio that demonstrates clear, purposeful writing for digital experiences

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand language

  • Familiarity with writing for mobile interfaces, ideally within complex or multi-surface systems

  • Ability to interpret direction and collaborate effectively with more senior content designers

  • Interest in writing for both user-facing flows and internal documentation

  • Comfortable working in design tools like Figma, documentation platforms like Confluence, and CMS platforms

  • A thoughtful communicator with an eye for detail, structure, and clarity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards or inclusive language practices

  • Understanding of localization workflows or writing for a global audience

The base pay range for this role based off geographic location is:

$69,000 and $85,800

The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate’s geographic location, as well as qualifications and experience. We apply geographic pay differentials based on the cost of labor in the market.  Employees in high-cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low cost markets may be compensated at the lower end of  the range. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. 

Please note that compensation details listed in US job postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
