We’re building a world of health around every individual — shaping a more connected, convenient and compassionate health experience. At CVS Health®, you’ll be surrounded by passionate colleagues who care deeply, innovate with purpose, hold ourselves accountable and prioritize safety and quality in everything we do. Join us and be part of something bigger – helping to simplify health care one person, one family and one community at a time.

As a Content Designer, you'll draw on your knowledge of content, design, brand guidelines, accessibility standards and competitive research to shape Health100. You'll collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to adapt and improve our user experience.

In this role you'll support content across the following teams: Health (helping members find care and manage their medical records), Benefits (insurance coverage and partner programs) and our AI health assistant.

You'll help shape AI agent identity, voice and response patterns across surfaces. You'll also support conversational design efforts as a secondary responsibility. To be successful, you'll need to translate complex healthcare concepts into clear, conversational content that users can act on.

Responsibilities
  • Optimize content for multiple channels, devices and touch points across user journeys, meeting user needs and following enterprise standards.
  • Use data and UX research to understand user behaviors, surface new opportunities and reduce friction.
  • Know when to advocate for new design patterns versus relying on existing systems.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, accessibility experts and business stakeholders to inform requirements and shape positive user experiences.
  • Develop user stories and provide guidance on content priorities.
  • Own content reviews and iterations across stakeholders from product to legal.
  • Apply and help evolve the Health100 voice/tone across products and surfaces.
  • Support Haio response shaping, sub-agent tone calibration and conversational design alongside primary owners.
  • Add content directly to wireframes in Figma and to content management systems as needed.
  • Participate in content design workshops and feedback sessions.

Education

Bachelor's or master's degree preferred in Human Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, Technical Writing, English or Journalism. Extensive work experience, academic work or certifications in user experience fields are also welcome.

Required Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in UX writing, UX design or content design
  • Experience with AI, conversational or agent-based content design (writing for chatbots, voice assistants, LLM-powered products or similar)
  • 2+ years' experience with Agile and lean UX/software development practices, including using product management software (Rally, Jira)
  • 2+ years' experience with mobile app and mobile web products
  • 2+ years' experience collaborating with internal team members (experience designers, accessibility experts, product owners, engineers)
  • 2+ years' experience with UX wireframing, UX flows and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects with prototyping software such as Figma and Miro
  • Experience in pharmacy, health care or other regulated fields (insurance, finance, etc.)
  • Knowledge of enterprise content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager or similar
  • Portfolio should include work on mobile apps, digital products and/or services, service design or human-centered designs
  • Experience with analyzing usability testing, A/B testing, analytics and other key performance metrics
  • Experience shaping content by working with cross-functional stakeholders
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in a large organization or at an enterprise level
  • Experience or exposure to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and writing for grade level and other regulatory constraints
  • Experience working with usability testing, taxonomy, design systems, content management systems, information architects and accessibility SMEs
  • Experience updating existing content to new guidelines
  • Experience with prompt design or system-prompt content for LLM-based products
  • Experience defining or maintaining a brand voice framework

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
