The Consultant will optimize email marketing strategies for customer acquisition and retention, oversee campaigns, and mentor a social media intern.
The Lifecycle Marketing Consultant will maintain and optimize the strategy and execution of all email marketing initiatives to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This individual will support ongoing initiatives and help build new nurtures and campaigns to advance business objectives. This role sits on the Digital Marketing team and has the direct oversight of our Social Media Specialist, ensuring integrated campaigns and consistent brand messaging.
This is a short-term, remote contract role expected to work 30 to 40 hours per week, with a contract duration of 3–4 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Maintenance & Optimization
- Maintain and execute existing email and social marketing strategies including pre-sales email acquisition efforts including top-of-funnel email nurtures, contact re-engagement, bottom-of-funnel acquisition campaigns, and 6sense Conversation Email programs.
- Provide recommendations to improve current programs and campaigns based on performance data and best practices.
- Support the creation and deployment of new nurtures and campaigns aligned with business objectives.
- Expand lifecycle coverage and introduce new automated programs for key customer moments.
Program & Campaign Execution
- Collaborate with marketing, product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure alignment with ongoing campaigns and product launches.
- Oversee the planning, creation, and deployment of email campaigns, newsletters, and automated workflows (drip nurtures, welcome series, re-engagement, event follow-ups).
- Ensure high deliverability, inbox placement, and compliance with industry standards.
- Manage segmentation and personalization strategies to deliver tailored content to prospects and customers at different stages of the journey.
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor and report on key metrics for email (open rates, click-through rates, unsubscribe rates, conversions, etc.) and social programs (followers, likes, shares, click engagement, etc.).
- Continue A/B testing and optimization of current campaigns.
- Recommend improvements to enhance engagement, ROI, and pipeline attribution.
Social Media Oversight
- Oversee and mentor the social media intern responsible for planning, creating, publishing, and sharing daily content across all social platforms, ensuring alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
- Review and approve social media content, set goals, and provide mentorship to the intern.
- Ensure content aligns with brand standards and campaign objectives.
Experience, Skills & Education
- 5+ years of experience in email marketing, CRM, or digital marketing, with proven success in growth-focused environments.
- Experience managing and developing teams, including interns and cross-functional partners.
- Expertise in marketing automation platforms (Marketo, SalesLoft, Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with B2B enterprise software preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA a plus.
