Purpose of Role
Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs. Utilizes analytical skills and design techniques to address problem statements that ensure delivery of solutions which meet business expectations. Liaises between business users and software developers to convey demands of the business.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Evaluates application suitability against business needs to determine feasibility and ensure desired outcomes can be achieved.
- Identifies problem statements and assesses application impacts by analyzing current-state business processes and system functionality.
- Analyzes system capabilities relative to business requirements and recommends solutions that enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Develops and documents technical and functional requirements, including infrastructure, security, and network considerations, to support business initiatives and system improvements.
- Troubleshoots application and user issues, performs root cause analysis, and recommends enhancements to improve system performance and user productivity.
- Creates workflow diagrams and documentation to illustrate current and future states, supporting solution design and disaster recovery planning.
- Develops and maintains data mapping and integration documentation, ensuring alignment with system requirements and accuracy of third-party service configurations.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to implement system upgrades and integrations, ensuring compliance with business, regulatory, and industry standards, including MISMO.
- Designs and implements system enhancements, including configuration changes such as business rules, roles, fields, and system settings that do not require development resources.
- Participates in deployment activities and performs production validation to ensure accuracy of changes and minimal operational impact.
- Conducts ad hoc technical analysis and supports production issue resolution, leveraging SQL and system knowledge to troubleshoot outages and data-related issues.
- Provides mortgage product and pricing expertise to support data mapping and integration analysis using loan data and payload structures such as JSON and XML.
- Develops and executes test plans based on requirements, including positive and negative scenarios, ensuring traceability and coverage of functional changes.
- Performs functional and regression testing, documents and tracks defects, and communicates severity, priority, and business impact to stakeholders.
- Adheres to change management, work management, and SOX/audit compliance processes while maintaining accurate updates in tracking tools.
- Communicates status, risks, and progress regularly to stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Builds cross-functional relationships to gather requirements, resolve issues, and support delivery objectives.
- Develops working knowledge of business domains, applications, and technologies to identify dependencies, risks, and blockers.
- Collaborates with project and scrum teams to estimate work, define scope, and support delivery timelines.
- Escalates risks and obstacles appropriately to minimize impact to delivery and operational performance.
- Contributes to team deliverables, participates in agile ceremonies, and completes assigned work within established timelines.
- Pursues continuous professional development through training, collaboration forums, and independent learning to enhance individual and team capabilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience performing technical analysis.
- Previous experience documenting application flow charts and/or diagrams.
- Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience.
- Ability to influence operations and drive change through collaboration and effective communication.
- Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Extremely organized with strong time-management skills.
- Broad knowledge of hardware, software and integration.
- High aptitude for learning new forms of technology and tools.
- Critical thinker, offering a logical approach to problem solving.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer handling skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail.
- Mortgage origination knowledge preferred, but not required.

- Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($100,000 - $140,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
