Job Description SummaryThe Heavy Duty Gas Power Contractual Services Commercial Proposals Manager (CM) will report to the Regional Contractual Services ITO Director and is required to independently manage the commercial proposal and contract management processes for assigned MYA (Multi Year Agreements ) & CM&U (Conversion Modification and Uprates) opportunities. The CM will manage the proposal and contract generation, support the Product Specialist during contract negotiation. This role leads cross-functional collaboration to develop competitive, risk-balanced proposals, ensuring compliance with Policy 5.0 and other business standards The role contributes directly to the development of commercial strategy, negotiation planning, and process improvement initiatives while supporting the transition from ITO to OTR and further fostering a culture of Lean thinking to drive sustainable business standards and sustainable improvement to increase process capability

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work as a key member of the North America Pole Services commercial & operations (ITR) teams in support of achieving the multi-year service agreements (CSA and MMP) business lines objectives. As a key member of the team, the role requires awareness of the business lines’ quarterly and yearly key metrics (KPIs) performance and for the prioritization of these metrics as business objectives and needs may change
  • Integral to quality backlog is the confidence and likelihood of converting the backlog of commitments as planned. This role will require the CM to have an understanding of risk to achieving the business objectives and support team in strategies to mitigate or eliminate such risk during the Policy 5.0 deal underwriting process.
  • Working with the region MYA Product Specialists, Account Managers, Operations teams, together with functional teams including Subject Matter Experts, lead the commercial (ITO) process for highly complex MYA renegotiation, renewal and new Multi Year Agreements (CSA and MMP) across the segment with the intent of developing winning strategies to leverage successful deal closures while ensuring compliance with established guidelines for the Policy 5.0 deal underwriting risk management and the various other commercial and business requirements and processes.  
  • Lead the Conversion, Modifications and Upgrades (CM&U), including the Complex Projects processes for Upgrades developments included in building the MYA contract strategy.
  • Drive commercial and technical scope definition, pricing, risk assessment, and solution development
  • Actively participate and support commercial and technical meetings, discussions and contract negotiations with customers.
  • Work with MYA Product Specialists, commercial/sales account teams and functional teams to determine overall deal strategy. This effort requires collaborating with the respective sales, operations, and other functional teams during the deal development and review process and ensure that all technical, commercial and business risk acceptance levels are properly mitigated and incorporated into the development of the opportunity scope, cost, strategy, price and actual proposal / contract language, keeping in mind Customer KPI’s.
  • Coordinate and as required lead the Regional/Sub-Regional/Deal Team Policy 5.0 deal underwriting review process in coordination with the applicable MYA ITO Director.
  • Be responsible for driving and coordinating commercial (ITO) process compliance and metrics across assigned deal opportunities with special emphasis on Policy 5.0 deal underwriting requirements, proposal and contract completeness, timeliness, quality, and the effectiveness and efficiency of the commercial/sales to operations/project management (ITO to OTR) R3 deal turnover process.
  • Ensure process adherence to all contracting requirements and serve as a key liaison between commercial, legal, operations, and technical teams.
  • Accountable for exercising deviation and signature authority within the parameters of the GEV Policy 5.0 Process and Signature Authority Matrix.
  • Enforce order-booking requirements and drive the R3 deal turnover process to ensure proper control of contract flow-down requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline from an accredited university or college
  • Min. 2 years of Commercial and/or Contract Performance Manager (CPM) experience with complex gas turbine, aero, steam turbine and generator service solutions in the Power Generation and/or Energy Industry

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with deal teams and influence outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, able to quickly build trust and credibility
  • High level of integrity and ethical judgment in all decisions, communications, and actions

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $92,800.00 and $154,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
